Hey Cheesehead. I did watch INDVD last night and it is better then the 720P that ESPN was showing. It was pretty damn cool!

Yes! 1080i is amazing when broadcast with the correct cameras and pushed into your home with the correct signal.

To date, The Masters was the most impressive form of sports broadcast in 1080i. CBS does a great job...I wish ESPN would start 1080i and if FOX would ever invest in high end cameras it would be tough to get work done due to the amount of true HD that would be available.

Good to hear bro, good to hear!

I just got my TV on Friday and I love it! I'll put this TV against any besides the Qualia. Worth every penny I spent! Discovery HD does a fanastic job also. "Sunrise Earth" is a boring program but the visual's are just outstanding! Can't take my eyes of the screen...

"Bikini Destinations" on HDNet is the same way.

Worthless stats of the day for Tuesday.......

CUBS are 10-3 when they draw at least 2 walks.... 1-6 when they don't

CUBS are 10-3 when they score at least 4 runs.... 0-4 when they don't

Not to be nitpicky again Fred, but the first stat you have shows the Cubs having played 20 games and the second you have shows we have only played 17 games. The Cubs have played 18 games. Like last time, I may be misinterpreting your stats.

Definitely looks like a bug in the program. Oh well..... back to old drawing board.

edit: seems like both stats should be 10-3 and 1-4. Now, to find where bug is !!!

I have the Cubs at 10-1 when they score 4 or more runs and 1-6 when they don't. I have the Cubs at 10-2 when they draw two or more walks and 2-4 when they don't.

3-3.

The simple fact remains that you should not fault a manager for starting a guy against a pitcher that the guy has gone 3-3 against in the past.

It's a PERFECTLY REASONABLE decision given the scenario.

Anyone who picks at it is doing so as part of some sort of agenda.

Ignorance of baseball + poor logic + sweeping accusations = one really bad post.

This will be the 3rd day in a row they've discussed Maddux :D

Maddux is on toss up.

Also they just showed Z breaking the bat again. That will never get old.

Toss Up: More likely to win the NL Cy Young: Maddux or Pedro?

Kornheiser picks Pedro; Wilbon picks Maddux.

I cant beleive I missed that Last night.

Toss up: More impressive: Zambrano striking out 12 or breaking his bat over his knee?

Kornheiser says breaking the bat; Wilbon says striking out 12.

Just because you don't agree with it, doesn't mean it's ignorant.

What happens if he goes 0-3 tonight? Then the next time you face Willis do you put neifi in again? He's still batting .500!!

Simply put, that is ridiculous logic. Neifi is a career .270 Batter with a career .300 OBP. Yuck. 3 plate appearances is a terrible judge of someones ability. Okay, so he had a good day. Wonderful. Lets look at the rest of his career, or how about this year. This year when he is batting .207. Want to guess his OBP? Yep. You guessed it, .207. Not a single walk to date.

Yes. Thats exactly it.

The ignorance that a total of THREE at bats is reason enough to start a career crappy player.

First of all, that still doesn't show "ignorance of baseball". Especially when you go on in that same post to talk about sweeping accusations.

Secondly we aren't talking about starting Neifi over Walker. It's Neifi over Hairston. While Hairston has been more productive offensively, it isn't that dramatic. Then you also add in the upgrade defensively with a guy who gets a lot of ground balls on the mound. Then you add in the 3-3 history. Then he bats him 8th instead of 2nd.

You can disagree with it, but there are certain logical reasons why he would put him in the lineup, even if you don't think they're strong enough. That doesn't mean he's ignorant when it comes to baseball.

Just a question (purely in the abstract) but is it possible that most batters just hit some pitchers better or worse than they hit other pitchers? Granted the sample size is small (and that is probably the most influential element here) but i don't think it is unreasonable to think that some players het some pitchers better than thier career averages.

Also, how do career stats help evaluate a hitter or pitcher who figures something out along the way in his career? I am thinking of the player we recently aquired that credited getting his ADD under control for improving his performance (was that EYRE?). I wonder how often we don't hear about something that a player figures out that improves his performance but time has not allowed it to effect is career numbers yet. And by the time it does, we are talking about history.

Dontrelle has held left-handed hitters to a .218 average over his career. Also, in 106.2 innings pitched vs. lefties, he's allowed only three homeruns.

Restovich plz.

Yes, it does. It is ignorant to believe that three plate appearances is enough of a sample size to start a terrible player.

Also, I just rechecked HHH's post on the first page, and it showed Neifi as being 0-8 against willis? Which number is correct? If he truely is 0-8, then there isnt even an argument.

It's certainly not illogical to think that certain players might have success against Willis b/c . . .

a) They aren't distracted by his deceptive leg kick and simply see the ball well

or

b) Willis doesn't pitch them as carefully b/c he isn't afraid of their power or b/c he reads Rotoworld as gospel.

Neifi may fit any of these categories.

3-3 is referring to Neifi's numbers against last night's pitcher, Vargas.
