Why in hell is he on this roster. How is he on ANY roster?

You know, Bynum has an OBP (.0 83)better than only 1 other Cub (J. Williams). All the other pitchers have OBP's above Bynum. Don't we have guys in AAA that deserve this spot more? Fontenot for one?

I asked myself the same questions about Koronka last year. Koronka was a bad player last year. Bynum is this year. Somehow they see value in crap.

Hendry seems to like to stock his bench with guys who have absolutely no redeemable offensive ability other than the ability to run without falling down., i.e., can't hit for average, can't hit for power, and can't get on base. Bynum fits the bill as well as anyone, as does almost the entire Cubs bench, save perhaps Mabry, and he probably comes close to fitting the bill as well.

Hairston, Bynum and Mabry serve a purpose. Bynum and Neifi do not.

That's like saying "Hairston, Neifi and Mabry serve a purpose. Bynum and Neifi do not."

What I MEANT was:

Hairston, Mabry, and BLANCO serve a purpose, Bynum and Neifi do not.

I think Neifi does serve a purpose on this team, plays solid D and provides decent offensive play in a limited role (notice the word limited). Bynum on the other hand is taking up a roster spot and not much else, but I am willing to give him some time...who are we going to bring up in his place anyways?
