It's on right now. And they said they hope to hear from him, so they're probably trying to get it set up.

They just said they hope to have him tonight... they will also be talking to "Sweet Swinging" Bronson Arroyo :x

Rusch is such a pansy. Arroyo should have gotten chin music after that 2nd HR. Make him uncomfortable. Welcome to the NL.

- Says everything went fine today.

Asked about Wood and Prior always hurt..

- Says they want to be out there, but they aren't.

- Doesn't know when he'll pitch for the Cubs this season.

- Prior says he loves playing in Chicago and they got a great thing going there. He doesn't want to go anywhere.

That was about all.

I was expecting a much more vocal response than "not really" when he was asked if a change of scenery would do him or Wood any favors...

I didn't really like the hesitation he had when asked if a change of scenery would help him or Wood. There was a definite hesitation in his voice but he came back with the company line.

I did like the fact he mentioned in a week or so they'll re-evaluate things and he shouldn't need many rehab assignments.

By mid-May I think it's safe to say our rotation would be Z, Maddux, Wood, Prior and Hill/Williams/Guzman. Couple that with our bullpen and I like what I see.

How long until we see Pie and who's roster spot does he take? I hear he's really tearing up AAA.

I'm just curious, who are the numerous "critics" that think Prior needs a change of scenery? This is the first I have heard of it.

I think it was kind of like asking DLee about getting more money to play for NY or Boston, gave him the opportunity to say how much he loves playing for the Cubs.

When asked an unexpected question, you might hesitate too. It's like ESPN and Gammons just want to start drama - asking Lee what he thought about giving up millions to play for the yankees or the red sox and now asking prior whether he and wood would be better off somewhere else. No, no ulterior motives there.

yeah especially the wording, "Many experts have said that maybe a change of sceneray would do you or Kerry Wood good." You have to imagine these were the first things going through his head -

A) What??? I've never heard this (no one here has heard it so I don't imagine him hearing it)

B) How exactly is a change of scenery going to stop these injuries especially running into people and having liners bounce off me????

and then

C) Oh yeah this is BBTN, these guys are morons... um yeah, I really love it here... blah blah

No Wade Miller?

Wade is the forgotten one in the Cubs DL trio.

I think it's a line that the reporters always have to ask when talking about a guy that is hasn't worked out as expected in a certain town whether that means due to injuries, on the court issues, off the court issues, etc. In Prior's case it means injuries.

I don't think the Cubs will bring up Pie unless there are some major injuries to their OFers. Pie needs the work at the AAA level, and a hot start is just that, a hot start. Lets see what his numbers are like in late-June before we talk about whether he is ready for the jump to the bigs.

After watching Rusch and Sean Marshall pitch the last 2 games, without Prior and Wood we aren't going anywhere.

I wouldn't be so hard on Marshall. He was kind of squeezed in the first inning then settled down until the 5th.

Ruch on the other hand. Well, let us just say, "Cinderlla the clock is striking 12".

I hope Wood and Prior come back soon and are healthy. Same with Aramis.

Agreed with not being hard on Marshall. It was his first time pitching in the Major Leagues dude. He also was facing the toughest team in the National League. I give him some credit to only allow 4 and keep us in the game. Rusch on the other hand there is no excuse for giving up to bombs to Bronson Arroyo. Bring up Guzman now please!!!!!!!!!!
