I know this was discussed briefly on the "What I liked about Week 1" thread, but I figured I would make a new thread.

Vance, since you were able to get DLee to overtake Pujols and earn the right to start the All Star Game last year, I offer a new challenge for this year. Michael Barrett needs to be elected as the starting catcher for the 2006 All Star Games. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you have said a couple times that you are going to start voting as early as possible this year. God speed Vance. God speed.

Why not add Ramirez to this plan as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Ramirez make it to the All Star game last year? I don't remember if he started or not though.

He did, but Rolen won the starter voting.

He did start when Rolen missed the game due to injury.

I would love to get Ramirez starting without the need for an injury. But I wouldn't say that he flies under the radar whereas Barrett does. People are going to mention Ramirez and Rolen as the premier third basemen in the NL but in previous years they would mention Piazza and LoDuca as catchers but not Barrett.
