Judging by the look on his face when he was running the bases, it look like he needed that. Nice reaction by the fans as well.

Yep. Going 2 for 4 is very good. And it came at the right time when the Cubs needed it at the time.

I just thought I'd share with you what I said when Jones hit that HR. .

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYY ::cry cry:: HAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA YEEEESSSSSSSS!!!

Haha. This is so great. Jones joining the Cubbies just when they needed him. He slumped when they were winning. Now that the O was quite, he gave them the lead! So far, everything has gone just RIGHT for the Cubbies. And Prior and Wood aren't even back yet!!

I feel a bit bad about how we treated him this weekend in RF. I wasn't that hard on him, but the fans in general were. His postgame comments tonight were about not listening to the fans 'they were booing me yesterday, i was the worst player in the world, now I'm the best according to them'

I hope he doesn't come to hate Wrigley and its bipolar fans. BTW, he interacts with the crowd the least I've ever seen a Cubs RF (and I've only seen 4-5). When he came out on Friday he gave a little nod to the crowd, but since then, he doesn't even look at us. I guess thats not really his job to play nice with the bleacher bums, but I figured after his big HR he'd at least smile at our standing O.

Also for the record, Juan Pierre is always interacting with his adoring fans. Not sure about Murton though, because as we all know, Left Field Sucks

He's up to .125 on the year.

4 RBI in 5 games though. That's what he is here for, to drive in runs.

his job is to hit for power and to play good defense if you really want to try to give him a special definition. tonight was a good start.

I'd like to see him end up with 80-90 RBI's on the year. I think he'll turn around.

I don't blame him. I'd have a pretty poor opinion of fans who jumped that hard on me after 4 games. Hopefully, he'll shake it off and the fans will figure out that being antagonistic usually doesn't help.

Like you said, it's only 4 games. If this continues over the next two or three weeks (i.e. if he's hitting below .200 at the end of April) then it's time to worry. Maybe tonight's game will be a sign of things to come.

Thank you. That was precisely my point back on page 4 of this thread....I hope the fans lay off the guy now.

Yeah, I agree. Same with Neifi. Gets 3 hits and rides the pine. No reasons to complain there.

What I thouroughly enjoyed was watching him still give his all when he slid into 1st. Making sure that his 2nd hit of the season didn't take as long :D

You mean when he pulled a no-no and slid into first, like hairston did all last season...

The bat flip was annoying too. It wasn't that far out. If it had stayed in the park and he only got a single out of that b/c he was pimping it, I'd boo him.
