Neifi to start at second tomorrow

Personally, I will never get use to Neifi starting. Not today, not tomorrow, not next year when he will be playing out his contract.

 

Playing out his contract? He'll be in his contract year! Can't penalize a dude trying to make a living in his contract year.

 

Incidently, its raining here in New York...and all my stuff is wet. It sucks that water is so wet.

it's the third game of the season against the favorites in our division.

we need all the offense we can get with maddux on the mound, especially in april.

starting neifi is much more likely to hurt the team than help it (especially when he bats SECOND).

So I'm thinking...aside from It taking our 3rd or 4th best hitter out of the line up...and aside from putting a GOD AWFUL hitter in the lineup....and aside from putting a double play machine in the line up...won't a constant switching of the 2nd base spot also be a detriment to Ronny's development? Aren't you supposed to have a double play "combination" and then hopefully let them get to know each other? I can't imagine this is the textbook way to break in a young SS....aside from the hitting deficiencies.

Rather than looking at the results one game, let's examine the total body of evidence, please. Neifi is not a good offensive player. End of story. As a properly used bench player, he can be an asset. He should not be a platoon partner or a starter.

Well, let's worry about it when it becomes a problem. At this point in the season there is no reason to not give a guy props for 3 hits.
