I loved the intensiity that Pierre showed yesterday. As soon as he hit the ball he took off and he sprinted the whole darn way. And when he made it to third he gave a huge fist pump which was an unbelievable way to start out the season.

Since all Frenchmen are chefs and Pierre is a French name, I say we call him the chef cause he is always cookin up something at the top of the order.

That's actually pretty good - the Chef. Might use that as a backup to Slap Nasty (and yes CubinMemphis, I'll give you credit for that :D ).

lot's of ragging about Pierre's arm, but there's something to be said for a player who acknowledges his weakness and does the right thing. Pierre does this by always hitting the cutoff man, and there is a benefit to that.

by contrast, Sosa had a cannon early in his career, and always thought he retained the cannon through his good offensive years, but he didn't. the result was airmail after airmail allowing runners to advance, rarely getting an out.

Pierre will probably not throw a runner out all year and will turn a few singles into doubles and doubles into triples, but by remaining fundamentally sound, few runners will advance into scoring position because of overthrows.

My suggestions:

Slappy McRagarm

Franco American which combines his French name and his noodle arm.

Robes is so much shorter and to the point though.

On the subject of Obscure French Revolution figures I'll take Necker. Hats off to anyone that's not a teacher that can identify him w/o googling him.
