She's not asking for a house, a Lexus, and an Ivy League education. She's asking for CC, a truck, and a computer on top of the fact that her father has refused to see her for her entire life.

But maybe the mother kept him away for most of it until figuring out the PR from this story could help get more money.

I'm not buying that. His quotes do not strike me as coming from a father who has been desperate to see a child over the years.

You're right. I'm not saying he's doing the right thing. But relationships can change dramatically over 16 years, and we don't know the whole story.

Yup, one would assume a vehicle will help her get to school, a computer is a necessity for school in this day & age, and it doesn't sound like she's asking too much to send the kid to community college. Unless Randy can say with a straight face that he isn't paying his other childrens way through school, he should pay for hers too.

Plus lets not forget that just as we should give him the chance to tell his side of the story on the issue of not seeing his daughter, the mother deserves the same courtesy on the money issues. Until The Smoking Gun breaks the documents, who knows if the $750 a month was really just for day-care.

Strange that he didn't start paying child support until 1998, I'd imagine the back support for the first 8 years of her life would be a lot more than a hundred grand...

Though from what I know of friends custody experience, he isn't going to get any of that back money back. He'll be lucky to get them to stop the $750 monthly payment.

She's his kid. She's entitled to the things that daughters of rich ass fathers get. She should have a nice ride and a college education. If she was Randy's daughter with his wife she'd be getting all that stuff. Why should she get the shaft because her Dad is worthless and a bitter redass. I hope she gets every penny she can from that miserable bastard.

Apparently Randy Johnson attended the Larry Bird-Karl Malone school of illegitimate parenting.

$70000 a year is a lot of money and a family of two can easily get by on that. I don't think Randy should have to pay any more because he agreed to make the payments and has done so. The mother has no right to ask for more money.

I think Steve Garvey and Shawn Kemp teach at that school.

Plus what the mother would make at her job, she is obviously working if there is daycare involved. Remember, this is child support and not spousal maintenance we are talking about, they were never married so I don't think there is anykind of alimony, although I am sure the mother spent a chunk of the money on herself, because if the money was just used for the daughter's benefit, there should be plenty of money for her school, car, computer, her own house, etc......

Depends on how the money is used. If the money is used to buy a nicer house in a better neighborhood so that the child is safer and can attend better schools then why not.

For a guy as ugly as Johnson, $70K a year for 18 years isn't too much to pay to get some woman in the sack...

Seriously, tho, I think it's clear the mother is seeing that 18-year window starting to close, and wants to cash in while she still can...

I would expect them to live in a nicer house in a nicer nieghborhood, I would even expect the mother would by herself a new car to transport them around in, those are things I think are of benefit to the child.

Are you kidding me? He is paying almost $6,000 a month. Go to realtor.com and see what kind of house that buys. Let's just cut it in half and say $3,000. That is a $500,000 dollar house.
