If I recall, a couple of weeks ago he was near (maybe even below) .200. So while .244 isn't setting the world on fire, it may at least be a sign that he's starting to get it together.

At this point in time I think Baltimore would now ask for Z. Unless Prior comes back and stays healthy it will take more than Prior to get Tejada.

man, if the cubs trade walker and hairston get hurt (as he has been known to), the middle infield of cedeno and neifi has the potential to be flat out awful. oh, but the defense!!

If Neifi get less than 50 starts I'll be shocked. Remember, he can fill in at 3rd, SS, and 2nd.

50 starts minimum at SS, and that assumes Cedeno has no slumps or defensive issues. Neifi will also get numerous starts at 2B and some at 3B. Remember, Neifi can swing left-handed and Hairston and Cedeno can't. I also can't see Walker sticking around long. As soon as any contender has an injury at 2B Walker is on the next plane out of town and Neifi's playing time goes up. ARam will get some days off in the 2nd half, and also for cold days in April. I still have full confidence Neifi will get his 400 AB's, and very likely more.
