No use complaining about what ifs and might have beens. Bad calls are a part of the game. Despite the controversy (perhaps in part because of it) this was a supremely entertaining game, a big affirmation of why I thought the WBC was a wonderful idea in the first place. Hopefully Japan and the US will win out and we can have a rematch in San Diego.

The WBC has been a lot better than I thought, but next time around we need some better umps and different pitch count rules.

No kidding...There were bad calls left and right today, that's part of the game. I can recall several strikeouts today that were hideous, but all we're gonna hear about now is the sac fly.

 

I thought it was a great and exciting game, and I'm glad the US didn't lose to Japan.
