I think Zambrano struck out the 2 guys before the homerun, he got screwed on the calls. This umpire is aweful I wanted to post this earlier but the boards wouldn't laod for me. Z pitched great but eventually just had to serve up a ball right down the middle cause thats the only way he could get a strike call. They should use major league umps for these games. Overall though I think Z looks great.

2) All baseball players should be required to play winter ball so they can learn how to play baseball

Z has to learn and not let those calls get to him. Once he does he will be one of the top 5 pitchers in baseball IMO.

Its really hard to see where the plate sits at the camera angle they have for this game. I wish they had the above the plate camera so you could really see where the pitches were. There were quite a few breaking pitches that I thought were clearly strikes that he didnt get. All of his pitches had good movement and the velocity was there. Im pretty happy with what I saw.

Thank God they have a pitch count in this thing the Venezaluan manager sounded like he wanted to leave Santana in there even longer than he did. Im looking forward to Zambrano's next outing.
