Was Dopirak's homer a cheapy or did he crush it?

Crushed. It was a hanging breaking ball.

For anyone who was listening from Chicago, was there a new pregame opener ("The following is an exclusive presentation of WGN Radio Sports...", etc)? What did it sound like?

It's basically the same, if not the exact same. Last year, I believe the changed it in the first week of the season.

Juan Pierre, you've got yourself some competition. :D

 

I think Pierre is safe, but Pie could make the Cubs think hard before signing Juan to an extension.

 

Yes, no matter how well Pie does he needs to spend this year in AAA (with Von Joshua). But yes hopefully this will prove to Jim that we don't need to extend Pierre.
