My fiancee is really pissed because I told her I wasn't going to any Super Bowl parties because I don't think I stand to be around anyone during the game. I'll be too nervous/irritable/excitable to handle anyone, other than die hard Steeler fans. Maybe I'll drive up to Pittsburgh and watch the game there.

 

I'm starting to feel the same way. I've been going to the same Super Bowl party for several years, and I'm probably going to again, but right now I just want to sit 12 inches from my TV at home, with nobody else there, and concentrate fully.

 

I keep having this thought of everyone else critiquing commercials and making fun of the halftime show and all of the other stuff I usually do, except this year when that happens I might explode.

This is why I had no plans whatsoever of going to a Super Bowl party had Carolina made it. I had two friends over to watch the Panthers/Pats two years ago and it was fine because they were both big football fans too, but I couldn't stand watching it with people who don't care that much.

 

As of now, I might go to a party if I find out about one.

Its going to be almost unbearable. I don't think I can stand much more after the Indy game. I get that feeing in the pit of my stomach just thinking about all those things. I love this team more than any other Steeler team in my lifetime. What a great group. They'd better finish it off. Cowher needs it and so does the town.

Not really Super Bowl related, but I didn't feel like starting a new thread for it.

 

Looks like Jim Haslett is gonna be the defensive coordinator for the St Louis Rams. Good for Jim...the guy needs a head coaching break, and I think this will be a really good way to recharge his batteries for a while before taking another head coaching gig.

So I have to work during the superbowl but there is some good news.

 

I work in a Casino and of course, we have a HUGE VIP players party for the highrollers in the ballroom. Typically we set up 3 50 foot Video Walls and have 100 round tables in the back for a huge Buffet and we have 3 rows of comfy leather massage chairs and leather couches to lounge on.

 

Being in charge of the hotel i get some privledges so I get nice access and chairs reserved for me. I also get to ditch the Suit for the day and wear my Steve Largent Jersey proud!

Woo Hoo is right! I still have my #80 jersey too. :-k It isn't that far from Los Angeles to where you're at. If I can only talk my fiancee into cancelling her family/superbowl bar-b-cue. Unfortunately, I had to talk her into having it so I kind of doubt it. Ah well, we'll see.
