I though it would be interesting to see all the autogrpahs everyone has gotten... Cubs related or not...

I have autographed baseballs of:

Sosa, Fergie Jenkins, and Kyle Farnsworth

And an autographed card signed by Shane Andrews - I got the signature at an AAA game a few years ago and the card was from the 90s when he was in the majors with the Cubs... it must have inspired him b/c he homered late that night

Anyways... your autographs....?

I have a foul ball hit by Sosa that is autographed by Mickey Morandini. He (and Henry Rodriguez) were the only 2 guys to come out of the clubhouse before the stadium closed.

I drank beer with Rod Beck at his RV. That's the stuff.

He did sign some stuff for me too, but I drank beer with The Shooter!

It still ticks me off we didn't call him up when he was in Iowa.

Signed and framed jerseys from Fergie, Ernie, Hawk, Ryno and Sammy.

Signed bats from Billy, Buckner, Madlock and Kingman (that one was hard to get).

Signed balls from Rick Reuschel, Bill Hands, Bruce Sutter, Lee Smith, Randy Myers, Greg Maddux, Rick Sutcliffe, Kerry Wood and Mark Prior; and from managers Leo Durocher and Popeye himself.

I don't have anything with Santo's signature, I'd like a bat. Ditto for D Lee. And it kills me that I don't have anything with Harry Caray or Jack Brickhouse's signature.

It goes without saying I have a signed glove from Kess. :-)

I have a book, put out by the Louisville Redbirds in 1982, commemorating the year the drew 1 million fans. They held a huge banquest and invited several Hall of Famers in for the event. My grandfather had access since he was the team photographer. I was 1 year old at the time so all credit goes to him for picking one of these up.

The cover pages is signed by:

Ernie Banks

Joe Dimaggio

Mickey Mantle

Pee Wee Reese

Harmon Killebrew

Vida Blue

Henry Aaron

Carl Hubbell

Brooks Robinson

Al Kaline

There are others, those are just the ones of the top off my head. I'd love to know what its worth, juST out of curiosity. I don't think I will ever get rid of it.

I've only have 2...Grudz from when he was on a rehab stint with Iowa and they were playing here in Oklahoma City.

Then I have Nomar's autograph I won in the scratch of ticket give away last year at Wrigley when they played the Dodgers. Ironic huh?

There are probably better conversations for a person to make a first post, but I got Shawon Dunston and Rick Wilkins' autographs on two separate balls when I was 8 and the Cubs came out to Candlestick Park.

It was also my first Cubs game, so they have special meaning even if Wilkins only hit .244 for his career (.332 OBP though! :D )

There are much worse ways to use a first post.

"BIG TRADE COMING! I've got connections!" And then post some ridiculous rumor.

Welcome.

Oh and I don't have anything signed. My sister however does have a hat with most of the Cubs team from 1997 signature, but not Sosa and some others. She was a "honorary bat girl" and got to have a short conversation with Mark Grace.

Edit- My family also has an autographed hat of Mike Spidale, minor league CF for the White Sox. I know White Sox... but he is an alum of my high school.

also, my sister got albert pujols' autograph on a chiefs hat back when he played there, but she threw it away about a week later because she didn't know who he was. a good decision.

I stopped collecting autographs at the age of 15, so this dates me. Got most of them hanging around the Del Prado Hotel, where visiting AL teams stayed. They are all in a cheap, ragged autograph book, and include:

Ted Williams, Joe Dimaggio, Lou Boudreau, Hank Greenberg, Luke Appling, Ted Lyons, Monte Stratton, Johnny Vandermeer, Ed Lopat, Vic Raschi, and Joe Page.

Cubs include Bill Nicholson, Charlie Grimm, Andy Pafko, Roy Smalley, and the immortal Emil Verban.

The only autograph I have is Don Zimmer's. It's on a paper coaster from some Arizona hotel. (My grandfather got it for me when I was eight or so when he was on vacation and happend to run into Mr. Zimmer.)

Never been one to collect autographs, myself.

One of the perks of being so close to AA ball over the years (pre media pass) was the ability to talk to players and get things signed.

Does anyone remember those Leaf cards for Thomas that had FRANK in bold on the front with an intense word inside of it such as "confident" or "strength"..

haha yeah, thats the kind i have signed.. numerous amounts of them too because I am good friends with the owner of the Patio and frank thomas is obsessed with the Patio. ( good ribs)

I also have a Michael Jordan signed golf ball from when I was like 10 he picked me up and put me on his shoulder, I was scared for my life.

I have an EPatt autograph! Plus, he addressed me by name on the ball (clearly he's in love with me). It sits in one of those plastic baseball holders.
