Juan Pierre said he was disappointed in his OBP last year.

I wonder if Hendry ran to check if he included the no-OBP talk clause in Pierre's contract talk.

It's amazing hearing those three little letters from someone on the Cubs, isn't it? I didn't think it was possible.

Heard a Cubs fan flipped out at Hendry today, they were replaying on ESPN or the Score (I forgot) all day

Didn't hear it. What was said? Was it Treebeard? :D

All I've read in the paper is that Dusty and Hendry are being booed heavily. Prior got a very nice ovation, and said he's happy to still be a Cub. And I think I read somewhere that Hendry said Prior won't be traded.

I wish there was a call- in line. I'd love to join in the booing of Cheech and Chong.

I didn't actually hear the clip of it. All I heard was that some fan during a Q and A flipped out at Hendry today and Hendry had an interesting response. They said they would be replaying the clip later in the show and that people had been calling in all day to comment/make fun/laugh about it. Most were probably Sox fans mocking the Cubs. I'm sure one of the NSBBers that went to the Convention will report on it tonight. Or just tune into AM 1000 or WSCR and see if they are still talking about it. I wanted to wait and listen to but I was late for work at the time.

The fan said (I'll try my best here)

I was sick to my stomach when the White Sox won the Series. I could just see Williams and Reinsdorf with their feet up on the desk laughing at the Cubs. But I knew this was supposed to be a big offseason. The Sammy money was gone, there was the money from the new seats. So you signed two new relievers, you still have a questionable left fielder, a questionable shortstop and a questionable second baseman. You signed Jacque Jones for right, who I hate to say this Jim, but he's bad, he's not a good ballplayer. I just can't understand where all this money has gone. I'm not real happy with you right now, Jim. You could still be a hero with a few more moves. I'm just a very unhappy Cubs fan right now.

There were many cheers throughout his statement. One guy yelled at him to "sit down" and after he commented on Jacque someone else yelled " how do you know he'll be bad?".

That was the best I could remember. Hendry said "he appreciated the comments" and the team was "much improved over last year" and how the offer to Furcal wasn't too little, it was just the Dodgers offered so much more.

I'm sure someone can give a little more accurate depiction.

From the comments on Bleed Cubbie Blue from people who attended the business session, it sounds like the center field "restaurant" will actually be a center field mega-suite for group rental only. They're also now saying that it will likely obstruct the view from the first rows of the upper CF bleacher section.

The heat turned up late in the Q and A session when one fan accused the Cubs front office of putting players - such as reliever LaTroy Hawkins and center fielder Corey Patterson, both of whom have been traded - in a position to fail.

When asked an unrelated question, catcher Barrett lost his patience.

"What was the question again?" Barrett said. "I'm still a little fired up about that guy."

The former Montreal Expos player then defended the Cubs vehemently, using himself as an example of finding success after coming to Chicago.

Aside from that testy moment, the Caravan had its usual feel-good atmosphere.

I want to here more about that moment. Details, Please!

Yes, I can.

I think the guy in the audience who was yelling was frustrated by the fact that the bag of hot air at the mic was posturing and yelling without really asking a question or giving Hendry or Baker a chance to respond to anything specific. The first thing the guy yelled was "what's your question?"

Then, when the guy at the mic told Hendry that Jacque Jones was the worst free agent pick-up ever, the same guy in the audience yelled "who did you want, Encarnacion?" Good question.

If anybody has come accross any information from the "Down on the Farm" session from Sunday, I'd love to hear whatever info. And I'd love to have that linked or posted in the minor leagues topic. Thanks in advance.
