That was some timeout, Jackson.

Off-balance throws across the field into double coverage usually don't do much.

i hadn't seen much of young until tonight...man, is he amazing. i'm pretty meh on leinart.

If I were an NFL GM, I would take Young over Leinart without a nanosecond of hesitation.

except young can't throw

How do you suppose he'll fit into an NFL offense? You'll have to design a scheme for him to maximize his talents.

Do you think he's an amazing athlete or an amazing QB?

One thing is for certain, the officials in this game is terrible. Alot of calls that should had been called, went missed.

It's chickens--t officiating. They are afraid of changing the game with a call.

those c-usa refs in the outback bowl certainly didn't have that fear.

That they didn't. I still can't believe that onside kick offsides call. And I don't even like Iowa.

Vince Young is Michael Vick without the ability to throw. If he gets a coach that can get rid of that side arm crap, he might be worth something. Otherwise, he's a great athlete without a position (maybe WR, but I'm not sure).

He reminds me of Randle-El except bigger and stronger.

And he can throw the ball.

vince young? vince young can throw?

Same thing with Vick, Vick can't even throw.

Are we watching the same player here?

His throws are either gonna get picked in the NFL or get all his receivers killed.

first and foremost, an athlete. and he certainly hasn't looked bad as a QB tonight, but he hasn't had to make a lot of challenging throws.

I'm not sure, but I'll take the more talented player. I think Leinart is good, but a product of a good system rather than a great QB.

wow, kickers are bad lately.

Vick seems quicker than Young but not as durable. When SC blitzed their dbs in the first half they looked like kids trying to tackle dad.

i haven't been at all impressed w/ vick as an NFL qb. he's got a strong arm, but he hasn't turned himself into a real effective NFL passer.

That's what they said about Montana.

He's a passing liability if you put him in a situation (the NFL) where defenses are fast, very instinctive, and tremendous at reads on underthrown balls. Young is no doubt an amazing athlete and a beast in the open field with the ball and the ability to make people miss.

But he is going to be drafted high without the ability to actually throw the ball.

If a coach can correct that and make him have some zip on that ball, he'll be very dangerous, but until then, my skepticism of him in the pros is very high.

Yes, Vince can throw a ball. I'd say 2700+ yards at 64% for the #2 team in the nation is pretty darn good (including going for 270 vs OSU). Anywho, he doesn't have the best arm in the world by any means, but he's sure as hell a better QB than to be compared to Randle-El of all people.

i don't think he can throw the ball on a line more than maybe 10 yards.
