That was an entertaining game.

I'll call it now itself. Cal will be the first team to beat USC next year (ND will be the other).

EDIT: As long as Nate Longshore is actually healthy next season.

Ouch. UCF comes back from 10 down with under 2:00 left and tied it up thanks to an onside kick. Then they tie it up in OT only to have the hero who kicked the onside kick to miss the PAT wide right on a perfect hold. Nevada wins 49-48. Doubt the Sun Bowl is going to top that final.

Goin' back to the beginning of the thread, I have to admit that I'm a very bad NU alum. I had no idea so many players weren't gonna play in the bowl game. I guess I'm not keeping up as much as I should.

I'll be watching anyway, though. GO NU!

For all the Mizzou (or Gamecocks) fans out there:
AP[/url]"]COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Missouri safety and captain Jason Simpson will not travel with the team to the Independence Bowl after being arrested for marijuana possession over the weekend.

Simpson, a three-year starter and the team's second-leading tackler this season, was suspended for the Dec. 30 bowl game against South Carolina by coach Gary Pinkel following the Sunday night arrest.

Simpson was arrested by police after his name popped up in a criminal database for failing to appear in court on a littering charge from last year. After a search, he was cited for possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. All the charges are misdemeanors.

He was issued two citations on the drug charges and posted $100 bond for the warrant. He is the third Missouri football starter in the past two years to be suspended after a drug- or alcohol-related arrest. Linebacker Marcus Bacon was suspended for the New Mexico game this season after a Sept. 3 arrest for driving while intoxicated. And linebacker David Richard was suspended for one game last year after an early season arrest for marijuana possession.

Possibly a blessing in disguise. Simpson can hit and stuff the run, but he's exposed in the passing game. I wonder who they'll put there in his stead, maybe Terrell.

Only thing that the team will miss with Simpson is his emotional leadership on the field. The man can get an entire defense fired up.

That being said, I think William Moore was named the starter this week.

Am I the only one that wanted Rutgers to win last night? I thought they looked like they wanted that game badly. Their players were so fired up just to be in a bowl game. It was refreshing.

The other game I saw was the Navy/CSU game. I love Navy's offense. When it is run right, it can be just as hard to stop as the spread, and just as entertaining.

Anyway, Purdue is not in a bowl, so I've only been semi-watching these games.

You were not alone. Big East 0-1 :(

BSU's streak on the blue field is a little over a quarter away from ending. BC is destroying them 27-0. And now it's hailing.

And somewhat fittingly, BSU blows it at the very end. 1st and goal at the 5 with a minute left and it goes sack, spike (unbelievably bad idea when he had :44 left), and interception in the endzone.

Nebraska has their entire team on the field with a live ball and there's no flag? :-k

As they just pointed out, Michigan players were on the field, as well. Since there were Michigan players that were involved in that play who just stopped, I wonder if a whistle came in somewhere.

boy I dont want to feel bad for michigan but that was just awful. It was so bad that tirico gave up trying to be a biased announcer.

really the refs were just bad but some of the calls did go against neb. What I want to know is was the guy that actually made the tackle part of the original defensve set?

If he pitches the ball to Breaston, they probably win the game.

I think I can still hear the laughter coming from Iowa.
