Also, Thank you ESPN for the lovefest shown for Urlacher tonight. He is a stud, and maybe Sporting News will realize this. Defensive MVP of the League=Brian Urlacher!

ESPN gives lovefests to everyone..makes me glad that 2/3's of these announcers are nearly done calling NFL games.

Lovie shouldn't be coach of the year because it took him too long to put Rex in.

But he had the guts to choose a rookie over Hutchinson. Not that it wasn't an obvious choice.

I'm worried about Rex having to play on the Field Turf again in that final game...

We've lost more than a few players to that crappy turf.

If the game doesn't matter, but Orton out there :P

Hmm now there is an interesting question. If the Bears win next week, do you sit Gman and start Orton so there is no chance he gets hurt, or do you want Gman to get some more game experience?

eh... it's not like we have a lead on the giants. we can't risk a game

I know! His name is Rex. My Latin is weak but I reckon it translates as King. I think the King should be in the game!

I agree with what you are saying, but Urlacher seems to take a lot of crap when its undeserved. It was nice seeing him get the props he deserved on a National game.

Urlacher is the best linebacker in the game right now. No question.

Yep. Urlacher gets no respect at all. He's overlooked all the time. There's Ray Lewis, Zach Thomas, etc etc, and hardly anyone even put Urlacher on the list. It's a crying shame.

Urlacher is the real deal.

LOL, anyone remember byebyesammy/byebyecorey/byebyekerry from the ESPN boards?

He is also a Grossman hater (surprise) and insists that Orton would have done just as well as Rex did. He attributes the difference in performance to the game situation... LMAO

(any way we psuedo-clinched a playoff spot tonight??)

Ok, so WORST we can do is 10-6 for the year and not win the division.

Current NFC seeds;

1 SEA 12-2

2 CHI 10-4

3 NYG 10-4

4 CAR 10-4

5 TB 9-5

t6 ATL 8-6

t6 WAS 8-6

t6 DAL 8-6

Ok, we have the obvious tiebreak on ATL. WAS would have the tiebreak on us. I'm betting we'd have some sort of tiebreak on DAL if came down to it.

WAS' final 2 are vs NYG and @ PHI. Hard, but possible, for them to go 10-6. DAL's final 2 are @ CAR and vs STL. I see 1-1 there for the 'Boys.

So basically, root for the NYG to win next Saturday so that clinches the Bears a playoff spot. [and then watch as the Bears clinch the division by beating the Pack on Christmas evening! :D]

Lovie said that Rex has been ready to go for a while and they were just hoping they didn't need to make the move.

I never was a Grossman hater, but I was an Orton apologist. I'm fully admitting I was wrong now though...

No, you root against the giants, because theyre the only team that could beat the bears out for the #2 spot.

And because they're from NY and wear Red uniforms sometimes.

Grossman is on Comcast right now....he's a little wired.... :D

LOL Yeah he doesnt really know what he is saying does he? I dont think he is going to sleep much tonight. This team has me excited now. Orton on now says he was disappointed with his first half, Gman played great. Said Lovie made a good move, he wasnt executeing at all. Says he will take the same approach, feels he will still do everything the same, and he knows he is a young QB and will improve. Says this wont set him back. You can tell hes disappointed, but hes being a stand up guy. Says Moose apologized but he has no problem with Moose doing that. He is an emotional guy and understands why he did.
