I honestly have no idea who is going to win, but I picked USC by less than 7 just because it's very hard to pick against a team that's won 35 in a row, especially when you think back to the last highly anticipated 1 vs. 2 USC game in the national title match.

 

But I doubt the punters for either team will be busy.

Well if the results of this poll are any indication, this should be an awesome game... can't wait! I just hope both teams come out in the fine form that they were in to end the year... sometimes it is tough to shake off the rust after a month or more away from game action.

Ohio State, the 4th best defense in the nation by YPG, is the only team to keep Texas under 6 touchdowns(A&M too technically but 40 pts. v. 42). I think that alone will keep it from being a blowout, USC hasn't exactly been stingy against better offenses.

USC has really improved up the middle - at least at LB. They're still young, but they really have gotten better. The defense is really going to be filthy next year.

I really do think USC will KILL them. They have an ability to just shut teams down when they need to, and seem able to score at will. They have trailed a lot this year, and have given up a lot of points and yards, but those were all in the first half. It was almost like USC had to make it fun for themselves. When they wanted to they clamped down, and begin picking teams apart.

 

I must admit that I have not seen Texas play more than 1 game this year (the Colorado game, 2nd one) and I have seen USC a few times. Perhaps I am grossly underestimating Texas, but I just don't see them as being able to hang with USC, at all. They will be outcoached and outplayed IMO.

People were calling the 2003 OU team one of the best ever. Until the Big12 Championship game debacle.

 

Anyway, I really thought that our run defense would allow us to stop USC last year.
