For Jonathan Broxton?

From Rotoworld:

The Dodgers are close to acquiring Alfonso Soriano for reliever Jonathon Broxton, ESPN's Peter Gammons reports.

That would be a considerably smaller price tag than expected and more in line with what Soriano is worth.

Great deal for the Rangers

and LA is quickly becoming one of the dumber teams in the league.

I sure hope they what they have with their new GM. I personally though going after Furcal was ?able considering they have Izturis.

What's the over/under on Colletti lasting longer, or not as long as Depo?

Izturis will be lucky to be back by the ASB and may never have the arm to play short again. Plus Izturis, at his best can put up 700 OPS, while fine for a ss, has no place as a second baseman for a contender. However, it will be interesting to see how much more that 700 OPS Soriano can put up, playing half his games in Chavez Ravine and a significant amount at Petco, Chase, and SBC. My guess is 255/295/425

What happens to Kent now? Is Soriano moving to the outfield? What the hell is this guy doing? Not that I care, because I really don't care much for the Dodgers, but man, this is just weird.

Kent can play first or third.

some uhh...good quoting going on.

Anyways, wtf are the Dodgers thinking? Ned Coletti must actually be the Cubs GM as he keeps overpaying for these players so we don't.

I wonder if anyone has asked Kent if he wants to move positions. Knowing his disposition, that could make for an interesting situation over there...

4 all-star caliber middle infielders in LA now... not too shabby.

(Though I'll grant, Izturus isn't much of an all-star.)

Well I guess this limits the oppurtunity of Walker being included in a deal for Bradley.

Never under-estimate the stupidity of Hendry and Colleti!

God only knows... an infield of Kent, Furcal, Soriano, Walker is a possibility. Or Soriano could be moved to the OF.

If true, looks like LA's going to spend money afterall.

If it's a small market team like Cincy or KC, it's a bad move, cause Sori is costly for what he does. .. Although he is one of the best offensive 2b's in baseball. Since LA rakes in the revenue though, it's a solid move. It beats the heck out of Izturis @ 2b w/ Kent @1b or Choi @1b & Kent @2b.
