Not only did we post the same thing, but used the same title and exactly the same post.

You're scaring me.

I have my scary mind-reading powers.

Burn the witch!

first let's see if she can swim with a stone tied to her ankle. :D

Knight: "So if she weighs the same as a duck then . . ."

Peasant "she's Made of wood."

Knight "and therefore. . ."

Peasant "A witch, burn her!"

I don't know, something about the baseball offseason inspiring memories of Monty Python doesn't give me great confidence in 2006.

The funny thing is I took a couple of minutes to double check and make sure there wasn't already a topic up. My waiting to be sure there was no double post caused a double post.

Weird.

I did the same thing. I skimmed all the Transactions forum headlines and didn't see it, so I posted.

Wow, what a wierd trade. Obviously a salary dump from Cincy's perspective. Casey is a more valuable ball player then Williams, easily, if only it weren't for his 8.5 mil salary. Who would have thought that Pittsburgh would be a trading partner in a salary dump, unless it was them giving up the salary?

Leading me to think of hendry, obp, and how sheeps' bladders can be used to prevent earthquakes.

I guess this is the first deal in which Dave Littlefield has taken advantage of the payroll increase he was granted. This is at least a step in the right direction for the Pirates' offense. I do agree that it's weird to see the Pirates do anything that does not involve shedding payroll.

Casey goes home to Pittsburgh.

Good. At least he can't perform his annual rites of torment during my next Cubbie trip to Cincinnati.

As opposed to commenting on your sig, I will just ask: I thought political signatures were outlawed a few years ago? Or was that a dream? If not I could surely counter that.

Zero chance of getting Dunn now, as he is the starting 1B for the Reds.

Guess this means no JT Snow for Pittsburgh.

Is Pittsburgh still in the Nomar hunt???

The Reds actually did something smart. Casey may have been the heart and soul of the team, but it only takes a few months for people to get over that and root for what they have.

Now the OF is unjammed and the team can keep Dunn, Mo, and Kearns.

You don't think they could have gotten more than a bottom of the rotation pitcher for him? I'm not a Casey fan, but the guy can hit. He's the closest thing in baseball today to Mark Grace Jr.

Do you work for the IRS?

No "fair tax" is an absurd misleading Republican name for a system that makes the rich richer and the poor poorer. It ignores the fact that .25 (a low ball est. on how much this plan would require to keep gov't afloat) on a dollar means nothing to a millionaire and the world to the poor. But then again you don't care about them...

Although you should b/c everytime in history that the gap between the rich and poor got too wide one thing always occured... revolution. So I guess you don't care about our country... just yourself, because you are advocating something that will destroy this country. Maybe you waive that flag above your cowboy hat merely to use it to get what you want... something thats very un-patriotic.

I dont drive a Honda... a German made car... b/c generally they are made better than these American cars we are subsidizing for their mediocrity. And me having a foreign car isnt bad... but to explain that I'd have to explain this new thing we have in the 21st century called a global market which may be too hard given my audience.

I'll stick to doing what is best for my country... real patriotism. And you keep using jingoist satire to promote your selfish desires.

P.S. if the mods think this post is inappropriate I am sorry but it illustrates why I thought political sigs were banned.

What a load of bunk.

Casey was a highly mediocre 1B. He plays in a hitters park, in a division with mutiple hitters parks, and he hits like a second baseman. I wouldn't think there's much of a market for such a player.

I think Pittsburgh should have a decent team next year - their starting pitching staff should be good, they picked up another bat and if they're able to snag yet another, they should be looking considerably better offensively as well. Not to sure about that bullpen, though......

Perez

Maholm

Duke

Wells

Fogg

Redman

That's not a shabby rotation.....
