  1. Agreed. When healthy, Wood is my favorite ML pitcher. Too bad he hasn't been healthy since 2003.
  2. Very solid team. The only thing u dont have is SBs.
  3. Perfect timing. Just got back to Chi-town and now Cubs baseball is one day away!
  4. You are lacking SBs
  5. He is available because the guy dropped him thinking he didn't need him. He does have two other good 1Bs though but it was a mistake to drop him no doubt. I have 2nd waiver priority so we'll see what happens. I am guaranteed John Patterson or Howard though so we'll see.
  6. Who cares? It's discreet and it's the world we live in. Don't you have better things to worry about this team than them selling naming rights to the bleachers? Or is it just another area for you to criticize? Why do you care what I worry about? If there's something I like or don't like about the Cubs organization it makes sense to post it on a Cubs board. Last time I checked NSBB.com was a Cubs board. You have a tendency to call out a lot of people on this board who openly criticize the Cubs. I don't know what your story is and frankly, I don't care but there are a lot of things I don't like what this organization does. You actually think it's the organizations idea? I would bet both my limbs it's straight down from the Tribune Company. I don't know from whom it's coming from. I personally believe that Wrigley Field because of its landmark status and the fact it is one of the oldest stadiums out there should not be touched. I'm not a fan of the restaurant/bleachers upgrades they have done. IMO some things are best left alone and I think Wrigley is one of those places. Well to me, it reeks of the Tribune Company. Their stock is down, they are looking for ways to make money, this seems to be an easy way. I don't think the Cubs themselves are struggling for money, I really would alot of money this is a decision from the very top down. Which is why the Cubs need to be sold. I mean I don't like it myself, but I don't really care, and I'd rather they field a winning playoff team than focus on naming rights to their bleachers. I think we can all agree that we would rather see the Cubs make the playoffs than argue names etc. You are right though, it might be best for us fans and the Cubs org to be sold to somebody else other than stay connected to a publicly traded company.
  7. Maybe the cubs should have done a better job of upgrading the backup SS spot if they felt they can have a short leash with Cedeno.

  10. What isn't a joke is Wrigley giving up the bleacher's naming rights. What a sell out organization. http://www.suntimes.com/output/cubs/cst-nws-bud31.html
  11. And what do you guys expect from Neifi? Not much better even if Cedeno slumps. Neifi and his .300 obp can stay on the bench. Maybe it wasnt a great idea to ship out Cedeno in the winter leagues and play there either. Has he had any break at all from last season?
  12. I need to drop one of these guys to pick up Ryan Howard and was wondering who should I hold on to? As of now I'm going to drop Shelton but would like to hear yor opinions on this matter.
  13. McClendon felt that his time in Pittsburgh was going to come to an end after they traded ARam away to the Cubs. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-pirates-mcclendon&prov=ap&type=lgns
  14. I'm a Cubs fan and all but give me Pujols over Lee any day of the week. Let's not get silly. Just leave Pujols at 1st and Lee at DH :)
  15. I think Hendry and Baker know their job is on the line.
  16. Another is that with Hairston starting at second, we dont have anyone who can play outfield on the bench. Grissom dude!
  17. I think one big reason Pagan can make the team is because of his speed.
  18. Yeah, I'm really hoping Murton succeeds at this level. He does seem like a straight up kid.
  19. Pagan is hitting .360 this spring, and according to Dusty is a switch hitter...I'm sure Restovich could be a solid player but my vote would be for Pagan at this point. If Grissom doesn't make the cut don't we have two roster spots open?
  20. According to the papers Williamson is fine and threw a bullpen session yesterday. It will be interesting to see what the Cubs do. Wellemeyer has nasty pitches but his control is just terrible Damn shame.
  21. In the Sun times this morning they mentioned if Grissom doesn't make the team there might be a chance for Theriot to make it.
  22. I definitely don't condone Z showing up his teammates but man I do find most of his antics funny.
  23. Honestly who cares who booed corey and who didn't. He was a HUGE bust for us, never lived up to the hype and was probably poorly coached on top of it. He's a goner now so who cares what happens to him since he won't be back.
  24. It's an emotional reaction when you boo a bad play that just happened. It's a premeditated act of immaturity when you boo the name being announced in the starting lineup, or as the player strides to the plate or after every move me makes. Sorry, still not buying your "poor Corey" argument. As a major league player he has got to take the good with the bad. Booing a player who is performing poorly is no worse than getting on a message board and complaining constantly about Dusty, Neifi, or Rusch or no more immature than calling a player "slappy" or "gremlin" etc. In fact, booing a player at a game probably accomplishes more, as Corey was finally run out of town. Neifi and Glendon are still here. You might be on to something here. So if we boo MacPhail,Hendry,Baker, Rusch and Neifi they will be gone? If so, I might just turn the corner and start booing.
