  1. Because WOmack adn Walker have been hot at the plate.
  2. God, having Womack and Neifi on this team just plain sucks. I hate Hendry and Baker.
  3. i don't think it was about whether or not he was going to jail and if they would have to pay the three days he would stay there, but rather more about the potential black eye on the organization that sort of incedent would cause, and the effect throughout the whole ballclub as a result of that. If he had to go to court for another DUI, I think that could play out longer than three days in jail. A judge could recognize that it was his third time and then the only way for him to learn would be a significant period of jail time. That could be a couple of months maybe even longer depending on the judge. Here's the info for Illinois law: Third DUI Conviction - Class 4 felony Minimum six-year loss of full driving privileges. Possible imprisonment for up to three years. Maximum fine of $10,000.
  4. Maybe it is something Nevin discussed with Baker. When I heard his interview on ESPN 1000 a couple days ago he did mention he hasn't played the field in a long time and would need to put some work in.
  5. First off - it's moron not moran. Second, while I like the idea of a Murton/Jones platoon for as long as Jones is around for many reasons, having Murton as a full-time OF is definitely part of the overall problem. Sub-.800 OPS corner OFs are not helpful, OBP be-darned. Do you realize how little difference there is between a .363 and .347 OBP? While Soriano may have trouble staying around .350 OBP, I'd take that extra 200 SLUG% points for on less time on base per 60 PAs anyday, aslong as the Trib will suck up the salary without shortchanging elsewhere. That said, the real answer is still Miguel Cabrera, if Hendry wants to truly salvage anything out of 2006, whether they make a playoff run or not. moran is an inside joke.
  6.
  7. If Neifi was putting up Cedeno's numbers they'd represent a career year. Neifi put up the same line last year with much better defense, actually. In what fantasy world? He had a sub .300 OBP. Have you guys even seen how pathetic Perez's OBP has been the past couple of years? His career should have come to an end long time ago. 2002 .260 2003 .285 2004 .276 2004(Cubs) .400 anomaly. 2005 .298 Current .228
  8. I for one love inter-league play.
  9. http://reds.enquirer.com/2003/10/12/zim1_zoom.jpg http://reds.enquirer.com/2003/10/12/zim2_zoom.jpg Zimmer for manager!
  10. Yeah, like the Dodgers would give us any of those guys for Maddux. I highly doubt it.
  11. Hopefully that means that the rumors of him already having a deal are not true. No, it probably just means he won't be announcing it right now, because the Cubs didn't win 3 games in a row. As soon as they do (and they will, sometime), he will be officially extended. Extending Dusty with the team 15 games under 500 would be flat out embarrassing. Can you just imagine what a laughingstock this organization would be if that happened? Good lord........ Are you serious? We're already the laughing stock of MLB. Even the Royals have recently made moves to their organization.
  12. I didn't ask your direct question, but I said something genius like "why hasn't everyone been fired then??"...and he basically said he coudln't understand it either. He also said no one listens to Rothschild anyway, he's just there...sad state of affairs I'd think. Didn't Hendry make Dusty keep Rothschild whe Dusty signed on...probably has them tied at the hip and they'll leave together. My confusion is more...why did they give Rothschild a new contract instead of letting him go to Detroit? Not only that but it was Rothschild who decided to stay as well.
  13. The entire coaching staff needs to go as well as some of our scrub players.
  14. So, it's official now..Neifi is in the 2 hole yet again. Baker is so stubborn the man never learns from his mistakes. Wasn't last year bad enough?
  15. I would rather have Bynum over Neifi.
  16. Let's be honest now, we have a boatload of 2Bs so we really didn't lose much from trading Hairston. He hasn't been that good this year either. I know that Nevin lost his job recently hence the trade but getting a 1B should have happened a long time ago not when we are 12.5 GB. Nevin won't give us much but at least we can move Walker back to 2B and have more power at 1B. I don't think we will get much out of this move but whatever.
  17. If you are talking about JJOnes and Blanco's last swings they were both touching the plate.
  18. The ball was literally touching the plate as he swung for it.
