  1. It could be worse, you could have selected all Cubs.
  2. We're so good we can give up outs like that no problem.
  3. We have the worst throwing OFers in the majors.
  4. Truth be told, I hate the fact that Womack and Perez are on this team. I would rather have Womack start over Neifi though. I find it pathetic that both are on this team but what do you expect from a GM like ours.
  5. I'd drop Pierre to 8 and move everyone else up one. If Pierre can't lead off he doesn't belong on the team. Better to trade him. Agreed. He brings absolutely nothing else to the table.
  6. ok Seriously, what are you talking about with the title of this thread? it's called trolling. and yes, i'd rather have farnsworth than novoa, flowers, and moore. Why? Farnsworth is paid approx $5M more than Novoa and his career numbers are only slightly better than Novoa's. I agree that this thread is pretty ridiculous, because nobody in their right mind would take Farnsworth over Howry, but Farnsworth is grossly overrated due to his upper 90'S heat. If Moore turns out to be a Major League player the Cubs got the best of that deal. Farnsworth's upside is a lot higher than Howry's tho. Few guys can throw as hard as Farnsworth. It was always a matter of Farnsworth putting it together. It's quite debatable.. Hard to get much better than Howry and his mid 2era the past 3 years though.
  7. Laughing stock of MLB right now. Dusty's New Friend: http://rotoworld.com/content/features/column.asp?sport=MLB&column=83&articleid=22079
  8. He really hasn't done anything to justify his spot in the pen. Then again, we have a boatload of players who are not justified to be on this team. You mean, besides being a decent reliever(with peripherals that suggest improvement) in 75 innings at the major league level last year and completely dominating AAA this year? He's had 4 outings this year for crying out loud, and only 2 of them were bad. The latter part of your statement is hardly a ringing endorsement. The point is that his two demotions were kneejerk reactions to poor outings. Every reliever has poor outings, and this year we've been sending the message that one bad performance gets your bags sent to Des Moines. Wuertz was a good middle reliever last year, and his strikeout rates and lack of contact made on him in general made him a good candidate to be even better this year. He's been great at Iowa, we should just let him pitch out of the pen instead of rotating him through with the likes of Novoa and Aardsma. Truth be told all these roster changes are desperation moves by Hendry.

He's had 4 outings this year for crying out loud, and only 2 of them were bad. You're right, 4 outings is a pretty small sample size but he did have a terrible spring and the last two times out he bombed. His WHIP has been really high too.
  10. He carried my fantasy team this week. He's very good. Vladimir Guerrero single handedly helped me get to and win my fantasy league in 2004 when he won the MVP. He was absolutely ridiculous in September and October. I won the league having Vlad and Beltran as OFers that year too.
  11. You're right. It has been TERRIBLE. At one point Hendry showed the potential to be a really good GM, 2 years later he has shown just how bad he really is.
  12. Ponson's ERA is 2.92. Unbelievable.

  15. Our youngsters working out of the pen have been really bad this year. It doesn't matter if they brought up Novoa, Aardsma, Wuertz they all have been terrible.
  16. If you didn't vote we might have seen a shutout.
  17. Dusty lay into his players? Only if they are rookies. Seriously, Baker is the wrong type of manager we need here right now. He benched Cedeno today probably because of his error on Sat yet when Neifi makes errors and costs us games Baker does nothing. Dusty "double standards" Baker.
  18. See ya later Ryu. Your stay won't be long.
  19. Hendry, Take this team and shove it you pathetic GM!
  20. Cedeno had to be benched today because he didn't get the RBI to tie the game yesterday. We all know Perez and his AVG deserve to start. Dusty Baker and Jim Hendry - Biggest idiots in baseball.
  21. Hmmmm. If Tracy & Co can take a great pitcher and make him oridnary to bad (see Ollie, Duke) I wonder what they could do to Rusch. Maybe true about Duke but Perez hasn't been the same since last year. His drop of velocity has probably more to do with it than Tracy. What kind of injury did he have that caused him to drop so much?
