Honestly, I would rather give one of our pitchers a shot ie. Guzman than resign old man Maddux to another 2-3 year deal. Maddux might not have anything left in the tank and personally, the money could be spent to sign a better SP or hopefully bolster the OF.

I definitely wouldn't pay 9mil for that output. If we can get somethign valuable for Maddux I say we do it. He has regressed every year since we got him and that trend will not change. I was against having him here longer than 2 years and I think the Cubs would be better off moving on.

Availability Update: Cubs Maddux Zambrano Wood Rusch Blanco Cards Edmonds Bennett Spiezio (not at park) Marquis Mulder Suppan Edmonds is on the 15 day DL. At least I thought he was ?? He was supposed to go on the DL today but it never happened..yet.
