  1. I'd much much much rather have Wilson and let the Cards have Nevin. Agreed.
  2. Pierre takes pride in playing almost every game. The best way to get to him is bench him for a couple of games straight. That will get his attention.
  3. You aren't getting Soriano short-term. He's going to be looking for something like a 5 year $60m deal. Isn't he 30 years old now?
  4. Jeez, and to think we only have a 90+ mil payroll. We'll be last in our division soon.
  5. IMO, the Cubs blew their chance in getting to the WS in 2003. Hendry has done such a terrible job with the roster since then that I have no faith in him ever getting us back to the playoffs. We have regressed every year since 2004, which I find ridiculous. Hendry got lucky in 2003, and his mismanagement has cost us a lot of opportunities. Sadly, I'm frustated because I don't see how the Cubs can turn it around any time soon. We really need to get rid of Hendry and get a competent GM in here. The entire coaching staff should have been fired after 2004 too.
  6. Heck, at this point I'd be happy to see them play .500 the rest of the way. That would at least show some improvement. Problem is, I just do think that's going to happen. 61-101 is looking more like a realistic outcome...., maybe even worse than that. #1 overall selection in next year's draft looks to be a possibility these days.
  7. Prediction: Maddux gives up at least 4 and the lizard gives up 1 run to the pathetic Cubs.
  8. I voted for Brazil but watch out for Germany. It's always very tough to beat the home team.
  9. 13 under .500, .390 W% It just keeps getting harder and harder. Season is over. I don't see this team playing even close to .600.
  10. Haha, read Baker's comments. http://www.suntimes.com/output/cubs/cst-spt-cubnt09.html
  11. I don't know how it will go down but I would love to see Maddux traded and Glutton Rusch, and Neifi gone one way or another. Actually, seeing Bynum gone too would be a good thing. EDIT: How could I forget the bum Pierre, I would love to see this guy traded too. He has been as worthless as they come for us.
  12. Sure he does. He brings nothing to the table and that slot can be used for a minor leaguer who will probably do better than him anyways.
  13. I hate the Sox. But, the management team over there has a clue. They may not exactly classify as "intelligent", but they assembled a very solid baseball team. No they didn't. Their offense is power-heavy, and they don't have good relief pitching. That "Big 4" they shoved down everyone's throats last year is gone (Shingo, Marte, Hermanson, Vizciano), and that rotation they shoved down everyone's throats isn't so good either 36-23. They are doing something right, let's give credit where it's due.
  14. Lem mentioned this as well. I'll admit I haven't followed Marmol's minor league progress, but from the stuff I've seen thus far, he's got electric stuff. Why not give him a chance? Certainly can't be any worse than Rusch! You can make a case that Estes is better than Rusch.
  15. Lem mentioned this as well.
  16. if i was the announcer they would fire me for calling it how i see it.
  17. Who cares he is worthless and needs to go.
  18. LF..Dusty and his damn double switches I hate that guy
  19. I'm pretty sure this is what everybody outside of this organization thinks of us. Complete and utter disaster. From Rotoworld: http://rotoworld.com/content/features/column.asp?sport=MLB&column=83&articleid=22309
  20. I think people are just realizing that there's a strong chance that he may not regain the form we all hoped he would. I'd be absolutely thrilled if I'm wrong. Sorry----yeah, I'm referring to original Kerry. The one who threw a hook that broke 2 feet, and could blow a 98 MPH fastball by anyone any time he wanted. I feel pretty safe in saying we won't see that guy again. Agreed.
