  1. Just wonderful, another 2B is EXACTLY what this team needs to win. Hendry is stretching here even by his own standards. At this point, I really don't think anybody on the coaching staff is getting fired either.
  2. Wood had his velocity back? You can't be serious. He is consistently throwin 91-93 and sometimes hitting 94-95 with the wind blowing the same direction. Clearly, he does not have his velocity back and who knows if he will ever get it back. Wait, now there is a question as to whether or whether or not he will get it back? I thought you declared him damaged goods during your intensive medical evaluation with no chance of him gaining velocity back, say, after a few games and his arm getting used to the workload. Which way is it? Is it over or is not over for Woody? My personal opinion is that he will never get it back. Damaged goods it is.

  4. Wow, Hendry has a lot of special assistants. What do they do take turns picking up his orders from restaurants?
  5. He's damaged goods. He won't fool anybody with a 91mph heater. Jesus christ. Can we WAIT for him to return to normal healthy form. He's had 2 minor league starts and 2 major league starts. Can we allow that before we deem his career to be ended? He hasn't pitched a whole lot, he's had surgery, yet his career is over and he's damaged goods? He's had 4 game experiences and one rookie league experience since last August. This entire Website needs a Jump to conclusions mat. Relax. If you think he will come back to form after a few more starts you are mistaken. Why is it so hard to believe that after shoulder surgery a loss of velocity is possible? Look at Matt Morris, has he regained that velocity he lost? Damaged goods, bank on it.

  7. A little soon to make that judgment, don't you think? Furcal had offseason knee surgery and started off terribly, but his OBP is already about 30 points higher than Ronny's and 60 points higher than Pierre's. Granted, Furcal hasn't been playing to his potential but when you compare him to Pierre...NO CONTEST. Furcal 36R 45H 2HR 16RBI 25BB 29K 10SB .245AVG .333OBP Pierre 24R 44H 0HR 2RBI 8BB 18K 14SB .235AVG .270OBP Look at the contracts though. If Pierre continues to have a bad year, he's a FA at the end of the year so we can get rid of him. If Furcal had signed with us and was having a bad year, we would still be stuck with him for 4 more years. I agree that I would much rather have Furcal this year than Pierre, but nobody knows how Furcal would hold up through 2010. I truly believe that if Pierre's agent wouldn't be asking for that much he would be signed to a multi-year deal already.
  8. And probably the only sweep of the season unless we have to face them again this season.
  9. Hysterical. We have so many bums on this roster it's ridiculous.
  10. So does Pierre ground out, pop up or just K?
  11. Please for the life of me somebody DFA Perez!!
  12. No, he's in the rotation again. Haven't you heard? Please no. For who? Richard Hill
  13. Wood was throwing around 95-96 in his last start. Not consistently. I saw the game and he was at 91 a lot. Pre-surgery he wouldn't go lower than 96.
  14. So, let me get this straight.. DLee is hurt Wood has a 91mph fastball Word it that Prior has lost velocity too I can almost guarantee you so has Wade Miller Maddux is finally back to his old man self We have the worst OF in baseball Worst bench in the majors So, basically the only things the Cubs have going for themselves is Z, and the bullpen. Great job Hendry.
  15. Yup. The Cubs are getting violated by the worst team in the NL, but hey, let's give Dusty an extension. Extensions for everybody!!
  16. They have to do something! I mean they can't keep this up... You could have made the same case practically any day this month. 4 game sweep in San Diego, 3 game sweep at home, then an off day. Following the disgrace that was the White Sox series. We have been making the case, I am just hoping that with each passing day and with the amount of suckitude getting worse that maybe, just maybe Hendry can pull his head out of his rearend long enough to pull the trigger. I know we've been making the case, my point was just that Hendry had the chance long ago. MacPhail foolishly extended Hendry way too early in the season. If you are going to wait to see how the team responds during the season, why not wait more than a week? Give it 2 months and see what's going on. Hendry refuses to make moves this early in the season, why resign him that early? Given the foolish nature in everything management does, I don't think there is enough losing that can cause them to make a change. They'll probably demote some guys and call-up Womack. Actually, I can totally see that happen. Womack is going to save us, dude.
  17. Why hate the Marlins? Lay the hate where it should be addressed to and that's to the stooges, MacPhail, fat-Hendry and Dude man.
  18. This is hysterical, somebody please pass the popcorn.
  19. He needs to go!! I'm so sick of him already.
  20. The season is young, I'm sure that stat will find itd way down the tubes too.
