  1. No kidding? Yeah. Both Len and Bob commented on it. They said they've never seen that before from Maddux (at least not on camera). Youtube please.
  2. Honestly, I totally saw this coming. And in a weird way I'm starting ot enjoy the losses because I feel that is the only way changes will be made.
  3. At least now we can stop talking about how Maddux has regained his old form and was going to win the Cy Young award.
  4. I don't care about the hot start Maddux had, he better not be resigned next year.
  5. Are people seriously questioning if Pujols is doing roids or not? I mean come on the guy has been good since he came up to the MLB level and hasn't stopped since. There's little chance Pujols actually GOT ON the juice after they started the steroids testing. I personally believe the man is just that damn good.
  6. What a joy it would be to see Rothschild, Sarge, Clines and Baker get fired. He'll fire Dick Pole I can totally see that happening.
  7. I personally go back to 2002 where we didn't dump Alou to make room for Vlad. Same thing (as you say) in 2003 with Tejada and in 2004 with Beltran. They have done that sort of thing for years. The last time they bit their lip and signed the best and most predictably proficient FA on the mkt was Dawson in freakin' 87'. Recently could have had indisputable upgrades like Guerrero, Tejada, Hampton (he was really good back then but lost it at Coors), Thome, to name a few. EDIT: Instead ofthose guys, we get people like Kal Daniels, Danny Jackson, HRod, Dave Smith, Goose Gossage at age 42, Jacque, Luis Gonzalez (pre HR outburst; I won't speculate as to the cause), Blauser...the freakin list goes on and on. And then people wonder why the Cubs still haven't won one.
  8. Too bad I don't know Hendry's email addy, I would let him know EXACTLY how I feel.
  9. I can't wait to see Pierre a goner. He has been so pathetic that I don't even want to see him playing on this team anymore. I hope he gets traded ASAP. Hendry and Baker got their guy and it bit them on the behind. Sinking ship.. EDIT: Good thing Pierre's agents were asking for too much during the offseason. Could you imagine us signing pierre to 8mil per for 3 years? That would have been a HUGE disaster.
  10. A little soon to make that judgment, don't you think? Furcal had offseason knee surgery and started off terribly, but his OBP is already about 30 points higher than Ronny's and 60 points higher than Pierre's. Granted, Furcal hasn't been playing to his potential but when you compare him to Pierre...NO CONTEST. Furcal 36R 45H 2HR 16RBI 25BB 29K 10SB .245AVG .333OBP Pierre 24R 44H 0HR 2RBI 8BB 18K 14SB .235AVG .270OBP
  11. He was struggling for a while and actually was temporarily removed from the closer's role. Since then, though it looks like he has rebounded and has pitched well.
  12. I'm starting to not even care anymore who gets traded off of this team.
  13. Dude, and the gang? I agree though, I don't want any of the young players being mentored by this coaching staff.
  14. What a joy it would be to see Rothschild, Sarge, Clines and Baker get fired.
  15. Who cares about Ozzie and the Sox, what I care about is the miserable Cubs who have no idea how to win. Hendry should've been fired last year IMO, and it was a travesty to see him get the extension which he did not deserve. We need competent people to run this org or we are not going anywhere any time soon. The past couple of years under Hendry and Baker having been nothing short of disaster.
  16. Maybe Patterson needed a change of scenery but don't discount the possibility of what a good coaching staff can do for a player.
  17. Looking at the Marlins, I can honestly say that they are much closer to winning a World Series that the Cubs are. They have won twice in the last ten years. The management knows what they are doing. They probably have more productive prospects on their major league team than we have in our entire system. Agreed. The worst management in baseball= Cubs. People wonder why it has taken so long for us to win. A curse has nothing to do with it, it's all about having the worst management in the MLB(and for quite some time.)
  18. This is getting ridiculous. THe simple fact that Baker hasn't been fired yet is disturbing. I don't care what kind of winning streak the CUbs go on, this organization is spitting in our faces by resigning this has been manager. Hendry is an imbecile who has no clue how to be a successfull GM. He is clueless and so it this pathetic team!! We have stooped to new level folks and this madness has to stop.
  19. I ran out of words to describe how I feel about the Cubs these days...
  20. Just got in. Good thing I didn't waste any time watching these losers.
  21. did D. Lee really get suspended?? I kinda doubt it since it wasn't mentioned in the original report. WSI is worthless. Didn't Gagne get suspended for the same thing a few years ago? He did but I don't remember if it was because he was out on the field or because he was arguing balls/strikes with an ump and then was ejected.
  22. , but people just keep giving him jobs. And ridiculous extensions.
