Mod edit: The following url will open up the VWR at 9:30 AM Central Friday morning: http://frontline.purchasenow3.tickets.com/buy/MLBEventInfo?orgid=5&agency=MLB&trxstate=8 You can open as many windows and/or tabs as your computer can handle. All you will have to do is paste the URL into each window/tab. If you are using Firefox, I recommend downloading and configuring Tab Mix Plus to be able to keep as many tabs visible as you wish, as well as configure their width. Once Tab Mix Plus is installed, go to tools --> tab mix plus options --> display --> "Tab Bar" tab. Here, adjust the "when tabs don't fit width" option to "multi-row" and increase the maximum number of rows to whatever you desire. It's okay if the tabs take up most of the screen since if you get through in one, you can go back to the options and decrease the number of rows until your transaction is complete. It is also recommended that you create a cubs.com account beforehand and make sure your billing information is stored. You will have to re-enter your credit card info each time and confirm your email address, but the rest of the information should be pre-filled. Any other tips will be edited in here, as well, although check the entire thread for updates from other members. Q: Little help here guys/gals with Firefox. I open a new tab, but its blank. How can I open the same tab over and over again without copying the URL? The tab says (Untitled). A: Open up the URL into one tab and just hit control+alternate+T. You can do it before 9:30 and use the "reload all tabs" function of tab mix plus, as well. It'll take up a lot of memory to begin with since they'll be loading at the same time, but they'll begin to stagger out a bit pretty quickly. Q: The VWR automatically switches into ticketing if you are selected right? If so, what does the tab title generally change to? A: The tab or window title will change from "Virtual Waiting Room" to "Chicago Cubs Ticketing." If you have a bunch of windows and/or tabs open, just look for the first letter to change from a "V" to a "C," although it will display http://frontline... while it's refreshing. Q: Where is the "reload all tabs" option? A: I don't think it's a standard feature of Firefox, but if you have Tab Mix Plus (or possibly in a different tab management plugin), just right-click on one of the tabs and that option will be available. If it isn't, go into Tab Mix Plus options --> menu --> Tab Context Menu --> and check reload all tabs. I'm not sure if I have an older version or not, though, but it should be pretty similar. Also, you can decide use the "protect tab" feature to remove the close tab button on the tab. The yellow icon it places on the tab may also make it easier to keep track of which tab you're working on in case you go to a different window. The other thing is that like always, be prepared to have to hit refresh a lot to resubmit your ticket request once you get through. It can take a while to actually get tickets, but last year they seemed to dedicate a lot more bandwidth towards processing orders once tickets are reserved, so losing an order shouldn't be a big problem unless you take too long to enter in your information. And again, double check your cubs.com login information and wallet preferences. Q: Also if half my window is taken up with tabs, and one gets through, how do I maximize that screen so I don't have half my screen taken up with tabs? A: The best option would be to go back into the Tab Mix Plus options and reduce the number of visible rows back down to something more manageable until you complete the order. Or, if you want, you can protect the tab you get through in (just to be sure) and then right-click on the tab and pick the "close other tabs" option. That will close all of the other tabs, but I'd be a little worried about making a mistake at that point. Mizzou's original post: I think I posed this question in another thread a day or two ago, but I don't recall where exactly. Anyways, I've been trying to figure out when regular season tickets go on sale but haven't had any success. Anyone know?
