  1. Is he the one that started crying once he retired a few years ago, or am I thinking of a different Boone?
  2. How is his glove? I'm just looking for a reason to like this acquisition.
  3. 13. Grady Sizemore 14. Prince Fielder 15. Jake Peavy 16. Troy Tulowitzki 17. Victor Martinez 18. Carl Crawford 19. Alfonso Soriano 20. David Ortiz 21. Carlos Beltran 22. Brandon Webb 23. Vlad Guerrero 24. Ichiro Round 3 25. Derrek Lee
  4. I'm hoping that Wood can handle the load. I really think he can be a dominant closer if he can stay healthy. And as an aside, how incredible would it be (and I know I'm dreaming here) if he recorded the final out of the clinching World Series win?
  5. Team record by leadoff hitter CUBS are 69-56 when Soriano hits in the leadoff spot CUBS are 15-19 when Theriot hits in the leadoff spot CUBS are 1-2 when Pie hits in the leadoff spot You know baseball season is close when you see Fred posting stats again!
  6. Is it just me, or does the whole idea of "splitting up the lefties" seem very pointless?
  7. You won't find any when tickets go on sale, although I've never tried checking on the least popular games after getting through the VWR the first time. What game(s) were you thinking of? You used to be able to pull up some of those seats shortly before the games, but it seems like those opportunities have become pretty rare for weekend games. I was thinking of the 4/17 game against the Reds. I figured a ticket (only need one) would be relatively easy to get since it's a day game at the beginning of the year against a non-rival, but I wasn't sure. Not sure what will be available for a game like that. However, you may want to think about waiting for the dugout or bleacher box lottery on sale date. I'm sure someone here will get a first or second chance email and can help you out. Yeah, that's not a bad idea either. I'll probably try that if I can't get anything good when tickets go on sale next week.

  9. Are most of the seats right behind the dugouts held by season ticket holders, or are some available to the general public?
  10. Are we seriously still waiting on Derwood? Has he ever spent more than five hours away from NSBB in his entire life? What's the deal?
  11. My team name is The Dominators.
  12. Sorry for the delay... I select Alex Rodriguez.
  13. Junior, Dunn, and Chipper Jones are all FA's after this year, if I recall correctly. If Pie struggles, or one of the corner outfielders goes down with an extended injury, those are all options to seriously consider.
  14. Lofton is probably going to outproduce Pie this year. I don't know why the Reds are going after him, but he's a good pickup by any team.
  15. I remember a lot of people here wanted the Cubs to sign Craig Wilson last offseason. I sure am glad that's a move that wasn't made.
  16. I'm talking about so that you don't see them. For instance, there are threads in social with 5 billion posts in them that I couldn't care less about. I'd think that, like other forums, there would be something you can click to make it not visible. It might even save bandwidth, and in turn, money.
  17. Is this possible? It sure would be nice if you had the ability to ignore threads like you can ignore posters.
  18. Ha, what a great thread. I loved the part where he asked Vance if one of his students gave him that insult (or joke, whatever it was).
  19. Just shove him, Butterfield... I'm sure the ref won't notice that. Idiot.
  20. Marshall Brown, you freaking idiot.
  21. That's pretty much what I was trying to say. If I was to rank the power 1st basemen (regardless of the steroids stuff) from the 1990's-early 00's...I'd go: Jeff Bagwell Mark McGwire Raffy Palmeiro Jim Thome Todd Helton Fred McGriff Jason Giambi Andres Galaraga I probably missed a few. You gotta have The Big Hurt on top of that list.
  22. Ichiro? No chance. He's only played here for 7 years. Are you serious? In those 7 seasons the guy has 1592 hits (more than anyone has ever had in a 7 year stretch), 782 runs, 272 SB's, 7 straight gold gloves (yes I know). I know he's a bad ass. I'm not saying he's not good at baseball. I'm saying that he hasn't played here long enough to get voted in. Look at the players who have been voted in in the past 10, 15, 20 years. All of them had long careers. Being great for 7 years doesn't make you a Hall of Famer. But this is the MLB Hall of Fame, not the world baseball HOF. I don't think that what he did in Japan will have anything to do with him getting in.
