  1. One good thing in all of this is that the Cubs are at least acknowledging that Jones needs to go. They just need to figure out a way to make it happen, and sooner rather than later.
  2. I'm pretty positive that it was Gilkey. I remember the RFer diving even though he came up like 5 feet short of the ball too. Who was in right that day? I don't remember it being Sammy.
  3. Yeah, that's the point of a hit and run. Yes I realize that... the camera angle just really showed it well, that's all Sorry, I wasn't trying to come off like an ass.
  4. Yeah, that's the point of a hit and run.
  5. I love the 1-2 punch of Soriano and Pie.
  6. This nonsense again? I like how everytime people question a move by the Cubs they are being illogical pessimists. It might have something to do with the fact that some people question every single move.
  7. Throwing it back would be the ultimate F U to Bonds. With that said, if someone actually did that they'd probably be braindead.
  8. How am I in the West, yet Transtiger and Cubbies75 (who are an hour and a half west of me) are in the East??
  9. I like this idea.
  10. No manager is going to pinch hit for his starting SS in the 4th inning, regardless of the situation.
  11. I saw him in the dugout earlier In the dugout? I wonder why he wasn't in the pen.
  12. Woah Eyre DFA Nope Then what was the move?
  13. This move seems so random. If his dad is still reading this... congrats! What an awesome feeling for you!
  14. Your point? I hardly ever go to those sites as I can get the same info here. This is the first place I usually check when I get on the net so it would be kinda nice to have the standings back on the front page like they have been in the past. My point is that there are a million sites where you can find up to the minute standings, just by clicking your mouse the same number of times you'd click it by visiting the main page here. I'm sure Tim is busy and there are surely lots of other more important things to be done to the site than worrying about adding standings that three people might check here.
  15. sports.espn.go.com/mlb/standings mlb.mlb.com/mlb/standings/index.jsp sports.yahoo.com/mlb/standings msn.foxsports.com/mlb/standings etc.
  16. I really think Pie brings a spark to them team..Before yesterday, I beleive they were like 12-9 with him..When he's there, the hitting seems more contagious and the players don't look so bored and out of it. Assuming the Cubs win tonight, they'll be 14-9 with him, and 11-22 without him. I looked yesterday and Soriano's numbers are a lot better when Pie is there too.
  17. Soriano has been great when Pie has been on the team. The Cubs as a team have been noticeably better as well.
  18. How was he pointing at DeRosa? Was Mark standing in front of the dugout or something?
  19. With Neifi you can't go by the stats. No kidding. I mean, he's a savior and all.
  20. That OPS+ of 30 is solid.
  21. Neifi. I hated everything about him as a player.
  22. Out of curiosity, what were Soriano's numbers when Pie was with the team? Edit: Too lazy to look deeper, but it looks like his average when Pie was on the club was .354.
  23. Honestly, I think Lou wanted to give everybody something to talk about besides Barrett vs Z. Great point, and probably very true. Very smart move by Lou.
