    I don't have a problem with what Lou did, and I wish he'd do it more, but... he kicked dirt on the ump. I don't have a problem with him being suspended for a game or two.

    well, they aren't. era is a measure of a guy's pitching ability, not his fielding ability. i don't really understand why everyone gripes about this rule. the reasoning behind it is pretty obvious. you don't subtract points from a fielder's batting average because he makes an error. hill's hot start had me thinking he had a shot at the ASG...but his w/l record is likely to keep him out of it. a couple of his patented 13-14 strikeout games would help his cause. Well, I'm probably in the minority but I feel that when the pitcher commits the error, he "earns" the run. Either way, it's just my opinion. As for the bolded part... patented? He's never done that before in the majors. I'd let him do it at least a few times (heck, even once) before we start calling it patented.

    I've always thought that when a pitcher makes the error, the following unearned runs should really be charged as earned runs.

    I can't imagine brawling with one of my coworkers at work and not being suspended/fired. Ahh, the perks of being a baseball player. I said to trade Zambrano... I'm entirely sick of his act and immaturity.

    yeah, this place has been all sunshine and optimism lately. thank goodness you're here to bring everyone back down to earth. I wish people would stop quoting him. I've got him on ignore, but I still end up seeing all his posts because people keep egging him on. :x How do you put someone on ignore? Just ignore the post's. I'm not sure why his posting upset's so many people? It's the same thing every time -- it just gets old. I wasn't aware of an ignore feature with Premium. I might just fork over the money afterall if I can avoid reading nonsense.

    I caught part of it. Z wasn't suspended, just fined. He takes full responsibility. I guess he had some family issues or something come up a few days ago - Barrett was the first guy to come and offer help. They're still friends. :lol: He can, and should, take all the responsibility for it, but he's not going to win back a lot of fans -- myself included. What he did yesterday was simply inexcusable.

    Jesus, either Zambrano is a way superior fighter, or the more likely case, Barrett went in the clubhouse to make amends and Z ambushed him. I read on another site that Dave Kaplan said that is exactly what happened. According to Dave, Zambrano was shouting at Barrett from the clubhouse and telling him to be a man and fight, Barrett went down to calm him down, and then Zambrano attacked him again. Zambrano has always been one of my favorite Cubs. But after yesterday's incident, I no longer like the guy and am embarrassed that he's on the Cubs.

    Geez, did Barrett just get completely crushed or is Zambrano banged up at all too?

    That's the original broadcast with Harry calling the game, right? Costas called it, it was the NBC Game of the Week. Oh okay, didn't realize that. So the DVD's include the original commentary right? I just don't want to buy the set and be surprised with some random guy narrating the games.

    Agreed; I'm just saying that it takes two to tango and that Barrett gets SOME of the blame. This may be just debating semantics, but my comments started in response to Mizzou's post that it was ALL Zambrano's fault, while I'm saying that it's MAINLY Zambrano's fault, but partially Barrett's as well. I suspect we're really thinking the same but just using different semantics. Yea I think Mizzou is bout the only one whos saying its all fault one way. Let me rephrase what I said, or what I was trying to say at least. Zambrano is 100% responsible for the incident occurring. You can obviously place some blame on Barrett for Round 2, but if Zambrano doesn't start acting like an idiot after the inning ended, the whole thing would have never happened.

    Wasn't there an incident with Murton earlier this year where Zambrano showed him up? I can't recall what exactly happened, but I do vaguely remember something taking place.

Zambrano came into the dugout and started mouthing Barrett, not the other way around. It's his fault. Again, the point is that it's not ALL his fault. Largely, yes, but Barrett without question was in the wrong as well.In an ideal world, Barrett shouldn't have went after Z and mouthed back. But what kind of self respecting person is going to just sit there while some idiot embarrasses him in front of his teammates? I don't blame Barrett one bit for standing up for himself.

    The more I think about this, the more it pisses me off. How stupid is Carlos Zambrano? What the hell does he intend to achieve by mouthing Barrett and pointing at his head? This is 100% Zambrano's fault. Anyone who says that this whole incident is Barrett's fault needs to think with their brain, and not their heart. Get rid of Zambrano. He's stupid, a head case, and no longer good at baseball. Yeah, that's probably a bit hyperbolic but I'm sick of him.

    You do know that they had another fight in the clubhouse after that, right? It was more than just "a little pushing and shoving". Oh they did? I hadn't read that. I hope Barrett knocked some sense into Zambrano.
