  1. No one has LD% by split. And I have no idea why you'd want that anyway. To prove that once he starts to get hit, he gets lit up. I thought numbers told the whole story? That's a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's like asking for a team's record when they score fewer runs than the other team. No it isn't. I was asked to show numerically why I thought he struggled when others hit him hard and that's simply what I'm asking for.
  2. Again, I use both but as I said, you're narrow minded and just see one thing. Honestly, I could care less what you think. Seriously, how can you possibly believe that thinking you see Prior fade away mentally when he is being hit can outweigh the facts that Prior has done fairly well when he gets into situations when guys get on? Show me your numbers after he gives up 4 or more runs...his line drive % numbers.

  4. Clemens is in no matter what. Second ballot at worst. He was just too dominating and did too many things at HOF caliber to not include. McGwire just hit HR's. How many Cy Youngs did he win after he was with the Jays though? If his career ended around then would he still be in? This is the argument regarding Bonds.
  5. great stuff, really. you think the reason his era with men on base is higher than his era with the bases empty is because...there's men on base?? that's like saying he gives up more grand slams when the bases are loaded than he does when the bases are empty or he gives up more stolen bases when there's guys on base. average against with men on base: .228 average against with the bases empty: .239 Numbers don't tell the whole story. You like numbers. Show me the line drive percentage in games after Prior gave up 4 runs or more. Give me those numbers.
  6. I wonder if the market where Clemens played would help or hurt him too? The big issue I am thinking about is if his son knew he was doing this. The family thing may far outweigh what voters think of him.
  7. Isn't Mench a terrible fielder as well?
  8. I think it was on Mike & Mike that they were talking about the Steelers of the 70's doing some illegal drugs to make themselves better.
  9. that's just a ridiculous statement. Sorry we can't put a number on it so you could understand it. well, sure, when you just pull stuff out of your ass, it's hard to put a number on it. You are as bad as Joe Morgan. You only accept once thing just as he does and it's pretty funny when you think about it. I'd pull the I do this for a living card but I'm sure you'd cry about that and ask me for a number to prove that as well. I'd hate to be as narrow minded and self righteous as you are. i'm pretty sure saying that someone is "as bad as Joe Morgan" is a personal attack. maybe you should practice what you preach, eh? In what way?
  10. Again, I use both but as I said, you're narrow minded and just see one thing. Honestly, I could care less what you think. You don't think it's a bit misguided to evaluate a person's psyche based on seeing him on TV a few times? Perhaps. I've done this type of thing for over 29 years and it's part of being a coach. Could I be wrong, certainly. But, I still feel my initial insight to be correct. By the way, what do you consider a few times?
  11. Can't be until July now right? Wrong. Nothing like that good ol' NSBB info and helpful attitude. You did notice how I worded it as a question because I wasn't aware of the answer, RIGHT? He was never a free agent and can be traded at any time. Thanks, I appreciate the help. I really am clueless about end of the season transactions. No problem and that's because there's a lot to learn about it. I've learned a lot about this stuff here and there's still a bunch of free agent info I can't remember as well!

  15. Why isn't Raffy on the list?
  16. Performanace enhancing ham? I've heard that Harold Reynolds wasn't really fired, Kruk ate him. It's a big ESPN cover up.

  18. Cuse, you've let emotion determine every sentence you've written about the Prior issue, so don't start with me on this nonsense. Your damn right emotion comes into play. My emotion is being pissed that the Cubs are run by incomptent idiots who let stuff like this get to the level where it's at. Untrue jersey. I have in the past wrote that what i don't like about Prior is when he is getting hit, he fads away mentally. That's it. I've never called him a nancy boy or said I hated the kid, never. I said last year he wasn't going to come back and I was right. How in the world does this mean I hate the guy? I do not know if it's the Cubs fault or his, a combo of both...I really don't know but looking at this from a business prospective I say it again, paying him 3 to be on the DL is foolish. Hoping that he will be able to come back and be the pitcher he once was in my opinion is wishful thinking. May I be wrong, sure. As others have said who knows what the Cubs know about the injury and if Prior even wanted to be a Cub. I've written things like this about other players and never once have I been told I hate a player but for some reason I mention Prior and boom...I hate the guy. Honestly, I see emotion from your writings while mine have been pretty even keeled.
  19. As Bruce stated in his article this morning, there didn't seem to be much interest from other teams in terms of trading for Prior. Because the Cubs made it painfully obvious they were going to give him away for free. And we all know that all 29 of the other teams can sign him. I'm sure no team ever trades for a guy in July that is going to be a free agent the next season either. They wouldn't if he was going to be a free agent on August 1. I'm glad you can make not only all the decisions for the Cubs but for all of baseball too. Are you telling me guys that are going to be non tendered never get dealt now? You're letting emotion control you now.

  21. If memory serves, the Jays have been looking for a "hitting" SS for over 3 years. Offensively, Eck should be a step above McDonald and Clayton. But, will it be worth it? That depends on the salary. Jays are in a tough spot. They're not as good as NYY and BOS, but definitely better than BALT and TB - what should they do? Being in this division is killing them. They seem to go halfway to winning and halfway to prospects and still spend a lot of money. It just seems to be a lose lose situation to me.
  22. I would have to disagree with you if, as claimed on ESPN Radio, Roger Clemens is named in the report...... If Clemens is, in fact, named, will his HOF chances take a big hit? Maybe its just anti-climatic for me because I don't think its a big deal that Clemens was named. I already suspected it anyways. What bugged me is how Roger got to skate through this while Bonds got ripped.
  23. I wonder what the deal is going to be? Sometimes I just can't figure out what the Jays are trying to do.
  24. i have also been surprised by the lack of national coverage. especially considering there isn't too much going on right now. obviously if the bidding was between the red sox and yankees as opposed to the cubs and padres, it'd be different. It wasn't even in our paper here.
  25. They just said it on Mike & Mike.
