Will Grissom make the 25 man roster? I think if he hits ok during Spring Training and feels fine he will make the team.

Here I am thinking Hendry just liked to sign rehabed pitchers. :D This is an interesting player. I still think the JVB would have been a nice 5-7th inning guy but hey, lifes a gamble.

A position to be successful is just an excuse to hold a guy out as often as possible. Dusty will screw this up, if it happens. If Grissom doesn't take away his time, then Mabry will. If Grissom is on this team, there will be way too many days when Jones and Grissom are on the field at the same time. I can't wait for the day-game after a night-game lineup that will include Neifi (SS), Mabry (3B) Jones (RF) and Grissom (LF) all at the same time. Kerry Wood will probably pitch seven shut-out innings and get a no-decision. Then people will complain that he can only get 14 wins. I'll be happy if Wood starts 14 games. Hendry is giving Baker all the tools he needs to make this team as noncompetitive as he can. I can see Baker playing a trusty vet like Grissom 100 times in a year. It's time for these guys to leave.

Why do I keep thinking we DFA'd him early in the offseason? The Cubs did DFA him and no one claimed him so they could keep him. -
I'm watching this Virginia vs Minny bowl game and I'm wondering how they make money doing this when no one is at the game? By the way they lost the audio and it's wonderful to just listen to the band and PA guy. Darn....ESPN broke in and now Reese Davis and crew are doing play by play. :x

Doesn't the car have to be able to go over 45 MPH to turn on the cruise? I couldn't resist....I bought a Mercury Lynx the first year they came out and that car was not kind to my wallet.

Terrible trade. Why would we trade two quality workhorses like Jackson and Buhl for some unproven kid and a strikeout artist like Phillips? Typical Cubs... I hope the Cubs don't go after Mays for center. He's old and one of Leo's boys and will get way too much playing time. Just you wait.... they're gonna get that Bobby Bonds kid. You know, the one they call "the next Willy Mays". Mark my words, it will happen !! If I know the Cubs they'll get him when he's old and past his prime. Them CUBS have a long and storied history, no? Yes indeed they do Fred. I really think with this new division thing the Cubs will have a chance!

Saw what? Anywho....what does everyone think about that Jenkins trade? I think the guy has some potental. I think the Cubs will be major players in 68! You're drinking that blue Kool-aid again. No way they're any better than 3rd place !! I heard a rumor from my barber and he said that they make break the NL into 2 divisions and IMO if they do that the only team I'm worried about is the Pirates. No way will the Mets compete with that hitting.
