  1. I think we'll see a lot of strange non-signings due to steroids or the threat that players took them.
  2. Here's a thread about this topic in baseball discussions: http://www.northsidebaseball.com/PremiumForum/viewtopic.php?t=29135
  3. IMO this will be Lee's last big contract and I don't see him going for less than 12.5 a year for 4 years.
  4. If he convinced Jacque to use them, Juan could perform a great service to the team. Indeed he would! When the last time Juan even played defense?
  5. I've always felt that Juan G has had the benefit of steroids and would be close to worthless if he made the team.
  6. If Ozzie always wants to tell it like it is why doesn't he talk about steroid use?
  7. At you or to you?
  8. Sammy might want big money for that one day. Plus, if he does do that would that push his Hall eligibility back a year?
  9. I always thought Walker knew the game very well and if he can communicate that to the players the Cards will have a very good coach.
  10. I remember you saying last year that he could hit the googly like no other!
  11. I'm sending Dale the questions tomorrow morning so please get in your questions by then. Thanks!
  12. There are many different types of people that have had an impact in baseball other than the players and managers such as broadcasters and writers. Are there any other people out there that you would like to see added to the Hall that have had an indirect impact on the game? Do you have any stories about Ryne Sandberg, Ernie Banks, Fergie Jenkins or Billy Williams that you would like to share with us?
  13. Why not just give people more jobs and add 2 teams? Sure HR's will go up but at least it would be natural and not the juiced balls or steroids. Then we would have 32 teams and MLB could break them up evenly....16 in each division. :D Dreaming as well. MLB could then put 8 four team or 4 six team divisions.
  14. They were my National Championship pick at the beginning of the year, making me look smart right now. They haven't convinced me that much. I could see a final 4 run, but they're too 3 reliant without the D to support off nights. maybe they wont be when Sumpter gets back. I read rumors Sumpter may sit out and redshirt the year.
  15. Please get your questions in because Dale is going to be answering them soon!
  16. I love your picture of Fergie!
  17. You might have the record between the time you signed up and your first post! Welcome to the forum!
  18. No better time to get a ton of cash than now when the fire is hot. I just don't see him leaving a top 15 team for all the problems Missou is having and is going to have.
  19. Dale, thanks for taking our questions! I was wondering about the debate between Cooperstown and New Jersey and if the issue has been settled on who was the "first'" to invent baseball?
  20. Dale Petroskey, the President of the National Baseball Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum has graciously agreed to do a question and answer with the NSBB community! Here's a little bio on Dale: He became the fifth president of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in July 1999. He oversees the 66-year-old national shrine dedicated to preserving Baseball history and the story of it's role in American Culture. Prior to joining the Hall of Fame, he served at the National Geographical Society for 11 years, the last three as Senior Vice President for Mission Programs. From 1985-1987, he served in the White House as Assistant Press Secretary to President Reagan. He graduated from Michigan St. Please use the Chat/Guest thread for any questions you may have for Dale.

  22. Yeah, I always thought the USA did pretty good with amateurs whooping up on other countries pro's. So what if we didn't win the most medals? It's to be expected when amateurs are competing against pro's. But, vice versa, the countries who outmedaled us had no business bragging how superior they were than us. But, did we really need to bring the professionals in to prove our superiority? Who freakin' cares? It's greedy and unnecessary and probably just one more added reason that other countries hate us. And then, to listen to that idiot analyzing the China team in figure skating was an absolute joke. I hate ice dancing, can't stand watching it, but I did so out of respect for my wife's desire to watch it. I don't know who the guy was, but he sat there and just bashed the Chinese team that I thought was better than any other team that I saw by a long shot. Bash, bash, bash to the point you wonder if he has some sort of issue with people from China. The girl then completely disagrees with his analysis and says "sounds like the crowd disagrees with you", then the judges proceed to give them first place by a large margin. If a guy can be much more clueless about skating than I, what in the world is he doing in the booth at the Olympics? It couldn't have been Scott Hamilton because IMO he's one of the best out there.
  23. Not really. Selig can just add 3 more teams to the NL Central.
  24. Pictures? :D I wish we did have pictures! It cost a pretty penny and I did have to sign a bunch of waivers so you'd think they would have somebody take a picture at the end.
