  1. I swear these guys not only have a horrible plan on how to assemble a team but their total belief in lightning in a bottle solutions drives me to the point of madness.
  2. Yeah they talk about them for about 10 minutes and when these clowns make mistakes Baker punishes them by playing them.
  3. Why stop? They're smoking it at least they might be knowledgable about something that they do.
  4. It is. He's the guy that has to take the pitches. The other clowns get to swing at every pitch they see. You do see the logic in this don't you?
  5. My rock bottom would be a Baker extension and then watching Hendry trade the best young players the Cubs have for some washed up vets.
  6. Kaplin: "Andy we have a record amount of listeners curious on whet you're going to do?" Andy: "Well that goes to show you that the fans love the Cubs Gabe and we're very excited that we have such a stong fan base to abuse." Kaplin: "So no move is going to be made I take it?" Andy: "No reason. We've had bad luck, injuries and haven't had timely hitting all year, we'll come out of it." Kaplin: "So exactly when do you think the Cubs will start to show some life?" Andy: "We just have to be patient because these things take time. I feel we are on the right course and I have a lot of faith in Jim and Dusty."
  7. In other words, a raw college player! ...as opposed to a raw high schooler. Hmmmmmmmmmmm... Yeah, because RAW high schools players the Cubs have taken recently, have definately been productivet..... Have about the Cubs try a different apprach. What O_O and I are implying is that it doesn't matter if it is a raw HS or a raw college player. We'd prefer to take a polished hitter however old he is. You can prefer all you want my friend but the tools will take a toolsy player.
  8. Welcome to my world.
  9. If this is true Hendry is once again a day late and a dollar short and boy am I surprised.
  10. I see a Jeb Bush/Baker ticket in 2008....this series was fixed!
  11. I think the best deal the Cubs could make is to unemploy Mr. Hendry and Mr. Baker. IMO all else is moot. Plus, I don't want this team to come up with any kind of excuse like "We played 500 ball after going 4-49".
  12. I'm sick of washed up vets. Throw some other kid like Greenberg out there until Pie is ready. I like what Florida is doing, you don't see these types of vets out there...they let the kids play.
  13. I've read that he has been pitching to the Cubs hitters only so don't let those numbers fool you.
  14. Actually, the front office hasn't been too bad when it comes to drafting, especially pitchers. I'll be a bit worried if they take a raw position player, though. I think the pitchers have been average or above but the postion players have been far below average IMO.
  15. The Cubs will keep Maddux around and he'll leave next year as an non restriction free agent. IMO too many Cub fans would scream bloody murder if the Cubs dealt him and that's a move Hendry would fear to do more than anything. You see...we have to have our favorite players on the team for entertainment value. Now I can go to a game and say I saw Maddux. Ask me if the Cubs won I'll say I have no clue but I'm just thrilled to have watched Greg pitch. The two things the brain trust for the Cubs can't do and that is lose AND get rid of the local favorites.
  16. I think they are just way too stubburn to admit they were and are wrong. They don't learn from their mistakes and continue to try to prove that they were right all along.
  17. Too bad Hendry and company are in charge of this draft. Maybe next June we'll have another GM to pick since it'll be a pretty high pick.
  18. Perez can play SS way better than Womack and IMO he ain't a goin no where. I'm just hoping that there are more GM's like Bowden out there and Hendry has the sense to take advantage of that. Yeah, I'm still dreaming.
  19. Maybe the Cubs can get the 2 Ozzies together and have them sing the stretch?
  20. Maybe we should just call Pierre "Blade". Is there a blade of grass in the infield this guy has missed at Wrigley?
  21. Maybe if Hendry had a little vision he wouldn't have painted himself into a corner and had only Jones and Pierre to pick from. Also, IMO Hendry really wanted Pierre. What was Hendry's excuse for getting Bernitz last year? I'm sick of excuses, produce or get out.
  22. you've given up already? I've watched nearly every game...I see little in this team that looks like a contender. Craig Wilson won't change that fact. You may be right. I'd like to see what they can do w/ Lee & Wilson added to the lineup. ARam & Pierre can't continue to be this bad either. We're already 12 games out. I think the team would be much better with Lee and Wilson. I'm not sure it makes us good enough to play 625 baseball the rest of the way, so while it may help us get to .500, I don't think getting Wilson will help us make the playoffs. You are absolutely right it wouldn't put the Cubs in the playoffs but a move like this would be the perfect Hendry/Baker move. The Cubs would be average and then Johnny B could get his much deserved extension.
  23. That's because other teams don't swing at every pitch.
