I have no problem with Baker if he tells Perez privately that it was a bonehead move and tells the press what it wasn't a bad play. If that's the scenario, I'm all for it. Unfortunately, I have no faith that's the case... I doubt it happened too but I have to have some sort of faith. These guys can't really be that bad, can they?

I take you it you haven't saw the Womack signing yet? The scary thing is I think Womack can do a better job at leading off then Pierre has done so far. Now you know we stink! I can't wait to see Perez at third, Cedeno at SS, Bynam at 2nd and Mabry at 1st and Womack in left.

You have to love BakerBall. This team really makes me miss the 70 and early 80 teams. I hope the Cubs sign Perez to an extension too and take this show back on the road.

Or he is trying to bury Dusty, a la Angelo with Dick Jauron a few years ago. Possible. I just don't have confidence in Hendry's ability to pick a decent manager to replace Baker. I can just see some retread that believes the same things Hendry does.

Wow, they're taking it to the extreme. When people talk about slow guys who walk and hit homeruns being station to station baseball, they are wrong. This single slapping and sacrifices is what station to station baseball is. No team plays station to station baseball FASTER than we do. Yeah when the OF's are playing shallow you don't have much of a choice.
