  1. it's not hardy. trading him makes absolutely no sense for milwaukee. When is the last time Stone was correct on something like this? It ain't the same as throw em a slider away with 2 strikes.
  2. I want to see Cuse take this and see if he, at least, can get the entire Big East. So I'd be the guy you'd call if we were on a gameshow? :D
  3. I didn't think major leaguers could be PTBNL... Yea thats what I was thinking, but this is what Stone said. Like I said take it for what its worth. Stoney must be stoned or the Brewers are. I could see Hall going but if it's Hardy, I tip my hat to the Injuns. That makes the deal sound much better for the Indians, if true. Are the other minor leaguers B type guys? From what I've read they are, other than Laporta.
  4. My biggest worry is that the Cubs will trade a couple of young starters like Gally and Marshall and the pitcher they trade for breaks down and they have no depth to cover that. A lot of the pitchers mentioned have had health issues.

  6. wow McHale looks like he actually made a good deal I kind of figured when I heard ESPN painting it as the worst deal ever for the T-Wolves that they were wrong. But then again, whenever ESPN says anything I usually assume it's wrong first, until it's proven right. Is that the same Mike Miller that played for Florida?
  7. OK...let's stop saying this freshman being the top picks things. The NBA's new rule is what forced this to happen and if they didn't have it, it would have been 3 HS'ers. Sorry, but hearing this over and over again on ESPN is driving me crazy.
  8. I'd like to see him keep it up and give the Cubs another solid cheap option.
  9. Diet Mt Dew during the day and Fresca after 5. No caffine for me after that or I'll never be able to fall asleep.
  10. Mayo's a better shooter than I thought, look at his percentages. Maybe but imo he'll be another 20+ shot a game guy that won't really help his team get any better. I just don't him as a 2 over Beasley or Rose and depending on how bad the rest of the players are that are eligible to be drafted how he could be a #3.
  11. Eh, it had me fooled. A decent performance by Bautista last year coupled with previous good years from Washburn and Silva. Admittedly, though, I only moved here this year, so I wasn't that familiar with those pitchers outside of general name recognition. In any case, it should have been a decent enough back end behind a strong top of the rotation. A case of a third eye blind if I've ever heard one. Bedard sounds like a heck of a guy as well. ESPN The Magazine had a page dedicated to him in their "the athletes are the editors" edition, and he came across as a guy that didn't like baseball, his teammates or anything involving the game. I never knew anything about him before, but after hearing the stories about him recently, it makes you wonder where his head is. The O's made a heck of a deal moving this guy. It sounds like he's a guy that is very good at something he really doesn't like to do.
  12. As Fonzy used to say...I was wro....wrooo...wrooon...

  14. I still don't understand the hype about Mayo. IMO, he's Marbury that can't shoot but can drive better. I just don't see it, especially at 6'5".
  15. Thanks for the info. I had no idea this was coming and this team seems to keep on getting skinny 6'7 guys, but if he's as good as you guys have been saying, I'm pretty happy with this.
  16. Does anyone know about this Wesley Johnson 6' 7" Forward from Iowa State? He's transferring to Syracuse.
  17. Also, a heinous schedule and no conference championship game. If they go to the NC game again this year and get killed, something is going to have to be done about it. If they go undefeated, they'll have earned it since that would mean they went to LA and beat USC. If they can do that and then run the table, I'll have no problem with OSU being in the title game. Ugh, I just don't want to see them in the title game again this year. Someone needs to stop 'em. I'm not really a OSU hater, but someone else plz. I agree and I don't want to see them in the title game either. But if they go to LA and beat USC, they'll certainly have earned it. Badgers'll stop 'em at Camp Randall in an upset. I'm calling it right here. Hey, you gotta step out sometime. Tell me If I'm wrong gentlemen, but didn't they lose a game before the BCS Championship last year? By no means do they have to go undefeated.
  18. I think the inter-league games have taken all the glitter of of the All Star game. It's just a Mariah Cary type game now.
  19. Also, a heinous schedule and no conference championship game. If they go to the NC game again this year and get killed, something is going to have to be done about it. I'm all for adding a championship game to the Big Ten, or else adding a +1 format to the BCS. I wish they'd just stop with all the excuses and do it. There shouldn't be a way for a team to simply slide from their conference schedule right into the Championship game with no other buffer at all. No incentive for the Big 10 to do so though. They get 2 teams in the BCS every year by keeping the status quo.
  20. Dusty probably remembers that one time Corey had a really nice hit against a lefty and that's all he remembers. I could read Dusty quotes all day and thank the baseball Gods he no longer has anything to do with the Cubs. I'm going to go hug Lou right now.
  21. I still think, if the team with the best record doesn't have homefield, that the league that has the best inter-league record has the home field advantage.
  22. Also, a heinous schedule and no conference championship game. If they go to the NC game again this year and get killed, something is going to have to be done about it.
  23. They have to have a complex. They are one of 2 Chicago teams and one of 2 teams with the word Sox in it. They have no true identity of their own.
  24. Maybe Lou will take Randolphs place and nudge Hurdle a little to make sure they win this thing.
  25. Funny, both guys are left handed....I've always wondered how much that has to do with it.
