  1. EIGHT straight outs recorded via the K going back to yesterday's game. Pathetic.
  2. Keep batting Buschy at leadoff. Been so successful for 20 games or so.
  3. Counsell insists on the L/R/L/R/L at the top and middle of the batting order.
  4. Wasn't it not long before the ASB that several regular posters were b!itching about Cade?
  5. Anyone rationalize why Counsell keeps having Michael Busch lead off versus righthanded pitching? Nothing compelling about the .188 average and .263 OBP in the 1 spot.
  6. Happ, Suzuki, Busch, Kelly, PCA, and Castro are a combined 2 for 33 with 2 RBI against Abbott in their careers (small sample size).
  7. **Obvious Statement Alert** The Cubs will almost certainly make the playoffs But if the can’t hit/score runs when the wind is blowing in, they have no shot in October.
  8. I am happy Castro is starting for Swanson instead of Shaw. Go figure.
  9. I believe it's been mentioned in other threads, but Jed "Value" Hoyer is probably waiting for the off season to trade some of the minor leaguers. The price of players should come down, probaby considerably. It doesn't help for this season's playoff push, but it sets them up to be buyers over the winter. And I agree that Tucker will be a Cub for 2 1/2 more months.
  10. Wasn't being critical, and I know you posted well before the trade. Just pointing out that of those listed, Armstrong was traded (since he's really not a well-known prospect at this point).
  11. Sent to the Twins in trade for Castro.
  12. Cramping in his right hip.
  13. I don't think the Cubs make a big splash (unfortunately). I think they will reinforce the rotation with the thought that Taillon and Assad should be back soon. This will also help the bullpen by bumping Brown and maybe even Horton. And I think the way Shaw has been hitting since the ASB means they don't view 3B as a black hole offensively.
  14. Chicago's first "#23". I have his bat from a Spring Training game in 1984 (back when he used a black bat). His 1984 season was a preview of things to come in his career. May he rest in peace.
  15. Alex Cohen should not be in a MLB broadcast booth. Unless he's serving drinks or something.
  16. If available, does Dean Kremer move the needle for anyone. He's been pretty solid since the start of May.
