  1. Rockies beat the Marlins in Game 1 last night, They beat the Marlins again tonight. That makes it a series WIN......for the first time in their last 22 series dating back to last September.
  2. Cubs hitter don’t have very good numbers against Williams in limited ABs.
  3. AJ Smith-Shawver tore UCL
  4. Carson Kelly is batting .190 in his last 15 games (50 ABs). Counsell has to drop him way down the order.
  5. If the Cubs win the next two, I will care very little about today's game come Sunday afternoon.
  6. Except Counsell didn't start him last weekend against Lodolo, and Lodolo had reverse splits then, too. Turner had another hit today of a lefty, and Buschy came in at got a PH RBI today. Counsell will go with the same tomorrow.
  7. Angels DFA former batting champ Tim Anderson.
  8. 9 runs 20 hits 3 games against a dumpster fire of a pitching staff and an atrocious team. 3 wins
  9. Would suck to lose a game to the Rockies, but they've beaten Atlanta, San Francisco, San Diego, Arizona and the Yankees.
  10. Dan Plesac filling in for Steve Stone for the Sox series in New York.
  11. So the Cubs will most likely put up a crooked number in the bottom of this inning. Not that I'm going out on a limb or anything.
  12. Orioles up 5-0 over the Cards thru 4. So there's that.
  13. They did, and he wasn't spectacular.
  14. Isn't there a rule about waiting 10 (?) days after sending him down before he can be recalled? Also, Counsell mentioned his age/relative experience and calling an MLB game versus calling games in the Milb.
  15. Sean Newcomb was DFA'd by Boston. Could the Cubs take a flyer on him, at least for a short term patch? This year, he has a 25% K rate and 10% BB rate. As a starter, he never pitched past the 5th, but he was pretty solid as a reliever.
  16. I don't agree with Turner over Busch three games in a row.
  17. For those keeping track, 'zuks lead MLB in RBI with PCA 1 behind.
  18. While I'm fine with Happ leading off, I also don't think it would be a horrible idea to take him out of the leadoff spot (especially with no rehab ABs prior to his return) until he gets his swing back (or for a few games).
  19. Would be nice if the Cubs could flip the script in the 1st inning today - maybe score a couple of runs and have the Reds go down in order.
