That's why it was called. Defender never turned to track ball. Receiver is allowed to slow down for underthrow without geting runover. Pretty easy call.

None of this matters for the Cubs if they continue to "hit" like they have for the past 2+ months.

The offense pretty much sucks, and the pitching isn’t gonna carry the team every single night. They were never gonna sweep, and the won the first two. So it’s another series win. They aren’t going to sweep the Nats, so try to win two and move on. Wash, rinse, repeat.

The Reds were up 5-0 after two innings. Jays have scored in every inning since and lead 8-5 in the bottom of the 7th.

Elder has been really good in 4 of his 6 August starts (@NYM, @PHI, @CIN, NYM). He was lit up in two of his three home starts in August (CWS, FLA).
