  1. Unfortunately, it seems like pretty much all (most) TV announcers and analysts talk waaaaaay too much. It’s like they feel the need to continuously fill in every moment of non-action/non-plays. Have an opinion, fine. But at least make it have some entertainment value. Otherwise, STFU! Analysts tend to be the worst, especially in football. Those guys feels they have to break down something on every single play.
  2. Yep, keeping winning series. Expecting sweeps, even against crap teams, is not really realistic.
  3. I would guess the Cubs lead the leagues in GIDP, or at the very least near the top. But they’re actually very near the bottom. They’ve hit into DPs less than all but four teams. I’m surprised.
  4. Two more solo dongs for the BJs, leading Cincy 7-2.
  5. BJs jumping on the Reds quickly. Hunter Greene has given up two 2-run dingers already and it’s still the top of second inning, 5-0 Jays.
  6. Win today and it’s a series win. Of course, it’s a Sunday, so…..
  7. The Padres are a dumpster fire. A really expensive dumpster fire. How safe is Bob Melvin?
  8. A sweep would be great, but I’d be content with a series win. Just keep winning series.
  9. The BP Cup. And that’s why they play the games!
  10. Yanks up 7-3 in 9th over Marlins. Florida puts up 5 to steal the win, 8-7.
  11. That first pitch looked a bit like Kimbrel on the Phillies. The second looked like Kimbrel on the White Sox.
  12. Good thing that didn’t happen to the BFIB’s team or Julio would probably get a FB in the ear hole tomorrow.
  13. Friday, September 24, 2004 Cubs beat the @Mets and sit at 87-66, maintaining the WC position. The Astros sit behind them at 85-69. The Cubs go 1-7 in their next eight games (1-5 at home) while the Astros go 7-1 in the same stretch (winning 7 straight to close out the season.). What was a 2 1/2 game lead turns into 3 game deficit. LaTroy with two BS in the final week. Cubs treat the fans to a win on the last game of the season. Incidentally, the Cubs were 11-2 prior to the last 9 games
  14. TLR - what a great hire that club made a few years back. I’ll bet Ricky is laughing his ass off.
  15. Iowa put Ben Brown on the 7 day IL on Aug 2. Not certain how that affects a call up, but I’d imagine he’s not available until Wednesday.
  16. Bottom of the 8th, Nats added to their lead and are up 6-3. Top o’the 9th, Pirates added to their lead and are up 4-0.
  17. Those three aren’t on the 40 man roster.
  18. Nine years ago tonight, el Mago got his first start in the Abigail at 2nd base. Starting the game 0-5 with three Ks, he led off the top of the 11th in Colorado with the score tied 5-5. With one thunderous swing, Javy sent one deep over the right center wall for his first hit, first game winning hit, and first MLB HR. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8Kfta1iZ00
  19. So I just watched the entire sequence on MLBTV. Shockingly, Steve Stone (and Jason Benetton to a degree) pinned the incident on Ramírez. Forget the fact that it was Tim who first dropped his glove hockey style and went into a boxing/street brawl stance. As far a Eloy, yep, he was injured. But it looks like his foot was stepped on.
  20. For those not watching, what does this mean???
  21. The Reds have more errors (4) than hits (3). I hope the Cubs broke the Reds.
