  1. Former head ref Terry McCauley said it best - first 59 minutes officiated well, last minute pretty poorly. -hit out of bounds on Mahomes was a joke, shouldn’t have been a 15 yarder. -fumble/down by contact was correct call, but why did the clock not start after the ejection of Pacheco. Clock was running and player was ruled down by contact. Clock should’ve started prior to snap. -MVS was pushed backwards a yard or two and then pushed out of bounds. Ref stopped the clock. Forward progress was stopped and clock should’ve continued. -MVS was absolutely fouled on the deep pass inside the 10. Should’ve been PI on GB. -the push in the end zone is PI but there’s 8-10 players in the area all going for the ball. That will almost never get called. How many refs are even near enough to see what 8-10 players are doing in real time? Tough play, but there is PI by the rule on just about every Hail Mary in the end zone.. Packers played well and Love is looking better and better as the season moves on. Hopefully a sign of things to come.
  2. O'Connell is safe in Minnesota as he seems to be a pretty good HC so far. But after that: Lions - the guy seems like a meathead; was awful to start his tenure but then the team played really well from the middle of last season until the middle of this season; they're trending in the wrong direction. Browns - Stefanski started 11-5 then 8-9. then 7-10. Probably safe but slipping in the latter part of the season shows another coach with a downward trend. Cardinals - Jonathan Gannon is in his first year of a 5-year deal and he inherited a trainwreck. But Bill Bidwell is the owner so anything is possible. Falcons - Arthur Smith has been anything but solid in his previous 2 years as HC with two 7-10 seasons. He has them hovering around the same mark. Their remaining six opponents are a combined 20 under .500 with the best record being the Colts at 6-5. Another losing season and he could be kaput. Packers - I don't see the Packers firing LaFleur after his first season with Love (and without AR), but after the loss to Detroit to end last season's playoff possibility, and then a potentially poor season this year, it could happen. Doubtful, but possible. So are the Bears like a black cat to the remaining teams on their schedule?
  3. Haven't watched Carolina this season, but Bryce Young has literally no decent WR/TE to throw to.
  4. Anyone think Hottovy and the Cubs pitch lab could help out Kolby Allard? Former Top 50 prospect and only 26. Was non-tendered.
  5. Sure. But which coast? You don't specify.
  6. I think a lot of sports fans (including many Packers fans) forget the experience level (or lack thereof) of his WR/TE group. They are ALL first and second year players. They’re learning the playbook, learning coverage looks, learning the speed of the game, and by the way, making plenty of mistakes in the process. I don’t think Love will have a career similar at all to Favre or AR. And it wouldn’t be fair to expect that. But I think it’s certainly reasonable to give him the entire season and compare the first 4-6 games to the last 4-6 games and then view the season as a whole.
  7. Who plays third base the other 80 or so games for all the times Madrigal will be out/on the IL?
  8. Until today, Michigan couldn’t have had a softer schedule. OSU has been tested, and is good on both sides of the ball.
  9. I moved to the Tucson area in 2019. So I adopted them as the “home team”. Basketball has been fun to watch as they’ve been fast, big, an athletic since Tommy Lloyd arrived from Gonzaga. Jed Fisch has really turned a horrible football program around in just three years.. So, , yeah, Packers and AZCats! 😎
  10. My adopted Arizona Wildcats go into Cameron a knock of #2 Duke. Let’s not crown too many programs this early in the season.
  11. Oh Brailyn Marquez, what could have been.
  12. How do you think Benetti felt having to listen to Stone all those years.
  13. Brendon Little to the Blue Jays for cash.
  14. This has to be a little bit of a concern, no? Wonder, if like Maddon, this board will eventually hate Counsel.
  15. Happ is the clumsiest looking two-time gold glove winner ever.
  16. I believe strength of schedule.
  17. Knee-jerk reactions are common about young players.
  18. A certain poster's favorite shining brightly again.
  19. Loving what Jedd Fisch is doing in Arizona. Big win against the #11 Beav. They're three losses are by 7 @Miss State in OT, by 7 against #5 Washington, and by 2 to USC in 3 OTs. They are fun to follow.
  20. And I'll add Don Majowski, a 10th Rounder from 1987 as a pretty good draft pick who was "Wally Pipped" by another HoF'er. Injured throwing shoulder and never recovered fully.
  21. Since 1992, the Packers have drafted the following QBs (when drafting wasn't really a need): 1992 - Ty Detmer - 9th Round great for a 9th rounder 8-year career, 25 starts, 34 TDs 11-14 record 1993 - Mark Brunell - 5th Round Excellent pick, 17-year career, 3x Pro Bowl, 184 TDs, 78-73 record 1995 - Jay Barker - 5th Round 1996 - Kyle Wacholtz - 5th Round 1997 Ronnie McAda - 7th Round 1998 - Matt Hasselbeck - 6th Round Excellent Pick, 17-year career, 3x Pro Bowl, 212 TDs, 85-75 record 1999 Aaron Brooks - 4th Round Pretty solid 4th Rounder, 7-year career, 90 starts, 123 TDs 2002 - Craig Nall - 5th Round 2005 - Aaron Rodgers - 1st Round 2006 - Ingle Martin - 5th Round 2008 - Brian Brohm - 2nd Round (BAD PICK, complete bust) 2008 - Matt Flynn - 7th Round 7-year career, 17 TDs, 3-4 record, very good backup for GB 2012 - BJ Coleman - 7th Round 2015 - Brett Hundley - 5th Round 2020 - Jordan Love - 1st Round 2023 - Sean Clifford - 5th Round Two First Round picks and a Second Rounder netted: AR (HoF), Brohm (bad pick), and Love (current starter with 7 starts in career) The remaining picks were 1 Fourth and a bunch of Fifth Rounders or later. The fact that they've grabbed Brunell, Hassellbeck, Brooks, and Detmer in those picks is pretty solid drafting when they weren't drafting for need in those years.
  22. “And ‘Run Packers Run’ is making her move on the back stretch from the outside!!!! “
  23. Somehow I have absolutely no recollection of Texas being in the World Series. Twice. In consecutive years.
  24. Offensive Line is currently average at best. No WR or TE on roster has even started 17 games yet in their entire careers, Aaron Jones played in only his second game. They have the youngest roster in the NFL magnified by the offensive side of the ball. And it’s only game 6 of his first year starting. Lots of intangibles. But he hasn’t been very good, average at best.
  25. Well, given how often the bullpen was used, is it really any wonder why so many of them are/were injured.
