  1. Probably will need elbow/shoulder surgery after next star.....so you may be right.
  2. Sure, but it's not even close to the two points he completely inflated.
  3. So I'm watching the White Sox game yesterday, and they're losing....which is the best time to watch a White Sox game. And the game is in the 3rd inning or so and Hawk is lamenting about what a different team the Sox are without Adam Eaton in the lineup, and how they just don't seem to have the same energy. He's only missed one full game to that point, right?? Anyway, I assume he's laying the foundation as to why they aren't scoring runs in the event they lose. So Steve chimes in about one of the great things about Eaton is he makes the pitcher work, that in a 4 AB game, Eaton is gonna see 24-25 pitches. Well that just didn't seem right to me. I watch plenty of Sox games and I hadn't noticed him being so selective at the plate. Of course, I'm no sabermetrician either. So I looked to see if I could find the # of pitches Eaton sees per AB. And low and behold, right there on the interweb, I found out that Eaton is averaging 4 pitches per plate appearance, and that's the highest in his short career so far. Well, before I could get too wound up about it, Hawk breaks in with some story about a discussion he had with the late Dwight Eisenhower, John D. Rockefeller and the Living Jesus Christ himself over a round of golf back in his KC Royals days. So I forgot about Stone's comment. Fast forward to this morning, and I'm listening to the Score on the radio, and who comes on - the Stone Pony. And sure enough, the topic of Adam Eaton comes up. This time Stone is again discussing his importance concerning the number of pitches he sees each at bat and how this not only helps his teammates, but tires the pitcher. Stone stated that it's not uncommon for Eaton to "see 7 or 8, 9, even sometimes 10 pitches to start a game". Now c'mon Steve. Is it really necessary to make sh!t up?!?! Whatever happened to the days of actually giving insightful commentary that was actually relevant and true?? I always thought Stone was better than that. I guess I answered my own statement - he was better than that.....and then he teamed up with that talentless hack next to him. MAybe I'm nitpicking, but if he can arbitrarily throw out that statement, what else does he say that's just flat out wrong???
  4. Generally speaking, is there an age a minor leaguer hits that he's considered "past his mark" as far as being a viable major leaguer? Is it different for a player drafted out go college versus HS or Internationally?
  5. Poor AB by Rizzo, too aggressive on pitch #1, especially after three BBs.
  6. Where was Coughlan before the call up? I didn't see him on the 40-man roster.
  7. Sandberg used to use a black bat ala Billy Buckner. I have a cracked game bat for #23 from spring training in 1984.
  8. Wonder where the White Sox offense will be when Flowers, Ramirez and Viciedo aren't still hitting .350. All three are waaaayyyy over where they should be.
  9. Hope he doesn't end up as skinny as AJ. 8-[
  10. The statistics are based on Facebook....not the most reliable stats.
  11. His HR trot looks like he's holding in a deuce.
  12. Hawk just partially blamed Segura for getting hit in the face by Braun because Braun was just "doing his pre-bat ritual. Segura should've been looking where he was going." Hawk was serious. I hope for the Brewers sake Gallardo doesn't decide to warm up in the dugout.
  13. They're both crap IMO At least they're not wearing those dreadful blue tops. I hate the two-tone look.
  14. Apparently is the Hyde Park neighborhood.
  15. Does it really matter if they're "throwing out" huge offers to FAs if they know they're ultimately gonna get outbid. They can offer a FA eleventy-billion dollars if they know the Yankees, Red Sox or Dodgers will offer eleventy-billion and one dollars.
  16. This might be the toughest matchup they face in the playoffs. If they close this series out, the road to the final is quite clear. Have they beaten Anaheim or Colorado this year yet?
  17. Olt seems to constantly be behind 0-2 or 1-2 in the count. I'd like to see him be more aggressive early in the count, but he seems to NOT make contact a lot.
  18. Hawk broke out the "TWTW" last night for the first time this season (to my knowledge) referring to Ben Zobrist. When is the rest of the league/announcers/analysts gonna catch on.
  19. What type of prospect is Bijan Rademacher? Seems like he might have a decent bat. Never seem to hear much about him.
  20. I can't understand how he was a finalist for the Ford Frick Award last year. He has to be one of the worst announcers around and I mute the sound if I happen to accidently flip on a Sox game. He's actually a blast to listen to when the Sox are losing/playing poorly. I guess I get some sick enjoyment from it.
  21. Hawk Harrellson in mid season form less than a week into 2014. Just said that every call in the series against the Royals has gone in favor of the Royals. Every call! When will MLB look into the conspiracy the umps have against the Sox? Anyone think it would be worth starting a thread for Hawk's moronic comments throughout the season? Could be a fun thread.
