  1. Nelson Cruz for LF in 2015? He's not young and a poor fielder, but he could add some much needed production to the lineup. The Cubs need some type of production from their outfield and they're not getting it this year. FA crop is thin pickins'.
  2. Castro - totally disrespecting the Nation on its day.
  3. I stopped reading right there.
  4. Great drafts, excellent player development and wise FA spending can only keep you a contender for so long.
  5. My satellite dish is still out from the storm! :x
  6. Soler with a single and run in his next AB. Zagunis with a single after lining out to SS in his first AB.
  7. (The other) Baez with a 3-run shot for Boise.
  8. Soler hit by pitch in his first AB. Wonder if he's still in the game.
  9. If Olt were to get sent down, where would he go?? He wouldn't get much playing time at Iowa (if any) with Bryant, unless maybe they stuck him at first base. Would they consider dropping him to Tennessee, although Villanueva at third there?
  10. Len mentioned it early in the game that it's "by design". Halladay must be a favorite player of Beeler.
  11. That's my point. Sitting Navarro, a quality player after a 3 HR game is silly. Sitting Baker after a 3 hit game is not. Castillo should be in there.
  12. And 20 strikouts in 33 ABs for the month of June.
  13. Hasn't Russell let quite a few inherited runners score this season?
  14. He goes to deep into to counts to throw a no hitter, IMO. Unless Ricky lets him to throw 130-150.
  15. Oh, it's real....and it's spectacular. http://www.teri-hatcher.com/SEINFELD93/seinfeld9305.jpg
  16. So do the Cubs tell him two weeks ago, "Hey, we're hiring you for two weeks. And when Welly is ready, you'll be DFA'd." I assume he knew going into last night's game it was probably his last, right??
  17. A couple of observations about Olt: -He always seems to be behind in the count. -He seems like he gets "out-guessed" too often, especially early in the count. -He can't lay off the slider/curve away in the dirt. I'm not a saber-guy, but I just looked At his "swing" percentages. Unfortunately, I can't really put them in proper perspective. Looks like he takes a strike 34% of the time. Is this high? His "swinging strike" without contact is 23.5%. I'm assuming one or both of these are high, but are either extraordinarily high?
