  1. You can always park for free on Rockwell and take the ftime we shuttle to Wrigley.
  2. How much wood could a Woodruff ruff if a Woodruff could ruff wood? That’s the real question!
  3. During “Game Night” this past offseason, Bryant’s wife mouthed “over rated” just before Bryce dropped the word “quickly” with a triple word score in Scrabble. BOOM!! Sixty-six points plus an additional 50 for using all his tiles. Don’t mess with Bryce.

  5. I’m actually not asking. It was a reference to today’s game thread. Hence the smiley.
  6. If the Cubs split, is it okay since it’s a road series? Asking for a friend. :D
  7. I did not understand this simple post.....until I realized it was not in the game thread. Then it became very funny!! :D =D>
  8. You sure about that??? I’m counting 37 Ks in in 108 outs - 34%! That's absolutely not how you calculate that but whatever. Edit: If you want to learn about how percentages work this is for you. Ok, not the K rate, but still a lot of swings and misses. Especially compared to Marlins over the same period. And in the context of Q’s pitching relative to the first three innings of this game.
  9. Schwarber makes it look so effortless sometimes. Not on that play. And rarely. But sometimes.
  10. Unlike the Cubs hitters (and missers). The Cubs K rate has been just fine. You sure about that??? I’m counting 37 Ks in in 108 outs - 34%!
  11. We haven't missed enough bats at all this weekend. Unlike the Cubs hitters (and missers).
  12. I thought Almora was getting traded midseason? It's in the "Bold Predictions" thread.
  13. Giant hoots or an abnormally large bow??
  14. My guess would be Holliday.
  15. Can LaStella be optioned. I'd guess he would before Almora in order to get a pitcher up from Iowa. Of course, there's always the possibility TLS would quit and go home.
  16. Hello April!! Let' s toast the Cubs victory over the hapless fish. Cubs close out March with a winning % of .667. Do that each month for the remainder of the season and they finish with about 150 wins (give or take; don't have a calculator handy). Did any really expect them to lose two in a row??? PLEASE! A day game after a night game with Q on the mound to start the game and his first full season as a Cub. So far, the starters have had a rough start, great start, followed by a rough start. So I expect Q to be near unhittable tomorrow. Win the series, fly to Cincy and let the offense get fat off of Reds pitching!
  17. On Cub.com, here's what listed in the capsule for Darvish in the preview of tonight's game: "Darvish was the Cubs' biggest offseason addition, signing a six year deal. The righty has shown that he's a better hitter than Joe Maddon thought and also easy to converse with. He's motivated after two disappointing starts in the WS for the Dodgers" Seriously?!? :-s Love this insight because I didn't really know Darvish was easy to converse with. Len and JD have never mentioned this on a broadcast.
  18. That Marlin guy could get his second win of the day and be a starting pitcher with a 2-0 record after the third game of the season.
  19. 3/31/18 chicago marlins (A Boy Named Yu) @ FLORIDA CUBS (A Jumble of Vowels & Consonants) 6:10 CST CSNChicago **So what has the 2018 season taught us so far? -The cubs are as bad as the MARLINS -Or, the MARLINS are as good as the cubs -Any chances of going wire to wire were quickly dashed as the VAUNTED BREWERS put up a 5 spot in the 9th against Brad Hand for an epic comeback win. And the Bucs are undefeated, too. -The cubs now sit in third place in their division and have several teams in front of them for the last NL Wild Card spot -The cubs are currently the second best baseball team in Chicago Is football season here, yet? Wait, I’m a packers fan. Never mind. So I guess a theme of the season game threads is gonna be the show Sopranos. Gotta admit – never saw it. And while I’m vaguely familiar with who Tony Soprano is, I’m actually much more familiar with Isabella Soprano. Thought about posting a few video clips of her, but: A – don’t know how to post video clips; B – didn’t think Tim would let that fly. So instead, I’m gonna try to summon the mojo of another TV mob family from yonder days (sorry youngins): http://www.oocities.org/dinahmanoffpage/lefkowitz.jpg Don’t mess with Lefkowitz!!! So the cubs get to show off their shiny new pitcher tonight. Let’s hope he can save the bullpen and save the season. And if he doesn’t, I don’t have to start a game thread for a while. **game thread starter virgin!
