  1. Why would they have to sign him to a bigger contract? If he’s not satisfied with his contract,he could always “demand” a new one anyway. Was not aware of this hat rule though.
  2. The amplified sound of bat hitting ball is what I find confusing. From the sound of it, you'd never know the contact above would've resulted in a weak pop out to SS (sans being inside and the netting). Crazy.
  3. I'd take odds that even he doesn't know where he's signing yet. I thought the Cubs just presented earlier today???
  4. Still wearing the little white Gillian hat??
  5. Family and friends visiting him???
  6. The difference in our “biases” is that I don’t think there was enough to overturn either call. Yet one call was overturned and the other wasn’t. And you’re correct, neither is us will sway the other from our opinion. The non-TD in my opinion was near impossible to see which foot clearly hit first in slomo, so how is it a BS call in the realt tme if the ref sees it as out of bounds?!? Anyway, Michigan has an awful offense and that’s their downfall this year.
  7. UMfan There was no overturned TD in the Michigan game. The call on field was out of bounds, no TD. And there was nothing at all on the replay that clearly showed one foot was down before the othe was out of bounds that would allow refs to overturn call on field. That said, I have no idea how earlier in the game, replay overturned a catch for a first down by a Wisconsin receiver. Scratched my head on that one. Both teams have great Ds, but the Michigan offense is way more inept than Wisconsin.
  8. Why be pissed AT Heyward for not producing? Is he a bad teammate? Does he have a bad attitude? Does he not give his best effort? Is he a jerk in his “personal” life or to the fan base? Did he threaten sitting out if he didn’t get paid a massive contract? Is he faking some injury that prevents him from playing? Does he insist on playing a certain position or batting in a certain spot in the order? Does he have any “sports prima dona” attributes rampant with stars? The answer to all of the above questions is a definitive NO! I’m not thrilled with how things have panned out th first two years. But he wanted to be on the Cubs and took less money than he could’ve gotten to do so. And I think he’s a great example of a professional for the young players. Hate the situation but don’t hate the player.
  9. Wonder if Ken Giles will be available in the offseason.
  10. While no one doubts his range and overall fielding, there were some serious issues with Russell's arm strength and accuracy this past season.
  11. get it? because if you call him Erin, that makes him a female and a lesser man. Erin Henderson disagrees.
  12. Why not make it Houston's turf, too, while you're at it!
  13. Tell me about it. :( Hopefully Hundley will play better with a full week to prepare knowing he’s the starter. Wonder it Glennon is available. 8-[
  14. weird that the offense started struggling at the same time they started facing some of the best pitchers in baseball. We can agree that's a problem right? Not just a coincidence.
  15. Gutty performance by Lester, but did anyone think one run was gonna get it done??
  16. Well, at least when Lester gets pulled, there will be some offense in the game.
  17. Batting .172 in six games with 61 Ks so far. Batting .190 RISP in same stretch. Yikes!!!
  18. The Vaunted Dodgers won a game everyone was ready to punt a day ago. Let them have it. For me, it’s not as much that they lose, but how they lose. Two consecutive walks which turns into an two consecutive runs. First reliever out of pen giving up HR and lead the first batter he faces. Second reliever giving up another dong. And then the offense not finding first base after what, the second inning?? I get the Dodgers and Nats have great pitching. But so does Houston and the Yankees. At some point the hitters are gonna need to hit good pitching if they want to win games.
  19. Have a question about challenge replays. When a rule states that “if in the umpire’s judgement......”, is the on field umpire’s judgement who made the on field call taken into consideration when the guy in NY makes the ultimate decision? I mean some rules are clear cut. And others allow judgements. So who’s judgement matters? The on field ump or the replay official?
  20. I tend to agree about DirecTV sucking. But I've had it for 20 years and have been too lazy/preoccupied to call and cancel. My own fault.
