  1. Best record in the National League. Go team.
  2. They're 4 back in the loss column, though. Continuing to play "about equal (but still worse)" than the Cubs is a good outcome for the Cubs. Except, the general thought was the Brewers would stumble with a difficult stretch, and the Cubs would benefit from a weaker schedule....thus increasing their lead. Not only have they not really increased their lead, but they've allowed the Cardinals to get back in the mix.
  3. Can anyone explain where Jim Hickey falls with the underwhelming performance of the Cubs pitching staff this season? Has he made anyone better?? I get that Lester is getting up there in age, so he's bound to eventually lose effectiveness. And I get that Darvish is injured. But what about everyone else. The only pitcher that seems to have made strides from last year is Wilson. Monty has been good, but really similar to how he pitched last year...just starting more. Q - inconsistent. Hendricks - inconsistent. Chatsuck - DISASTER Most of the relievers have been decent to good with some occasional hiccups. But they've all been pretty good in the past before Hickey. If Chili is to blame (rightfully) for the Cubs diminished power, than Hickey certainly has to take a fair share of blame for the pitching woes.
  4. That brutal stretch of games for the VBs coming out of the ASB has not really been that brutal. They've played about equal to the Cubs, who've had a pretty light schedule over the same period.
  5. Is it all on the ump or is Kratz framing well on the corners?
  6. Ummm, this kind of offensive sh!t has been happening AL season! Their offense can be truly offensive so often.
  7. Down 6-0 late - Cubs got 'em right where they want 'em!
  8. Well that didn’t take long. Does Davie Boy survive into season 2?
  9. Nats gonna get “walked off” two nights in a row, right?
  10. Murphy RBI single, and the Nats trail the Cards by 1 in the top of the 9th. First and third and only 1 out. Bud Norris is very average.
  11. Scherzer can’t seem to find a team with a consistently good bullpen.
  12. YOU SAY SADDY I've been referring to him as Baddy.
  13. http://images4.fanpop.com/image/photos/24400000/The-Silence-of-the-Lambs-Fanart-the-silence-of-the-lambs-24452862-500-268.gif
  14. I agree with above. No reason to give him away or "blink first" on a so-so trade. The Cubs are pretty good this year with a sh!t rotation. Adding Harper or Machado and they can still be pretty good with a sh!t rotation. Maybe, just maybe, not playing everyday turns him around. At least enough to raise his value.
  15. Drop Miguel Sano (MIN)* Add Jose Ramirez (CLE) *I'm super glad I kept him the entire time he was in the minors. And now that he's back and actually hitting dingers, it's time to jettison him for Ramirez. Last move of second half.
  16. Weiters reaction is awesome. He doesn't even hesitate going to the dugout. :D
  17. in the video, Weiters knows immediately it's the ballgame.
  18. I thought ARod was excellent with commentary in the playoff last year. He’s dreadful on Sunday Night Baseball.
  19. “Murphy one of three Nationals not to strike out tonight.” Great observation Matt. So, like, 1/3 of their line up hasn’t struck out. Thanks.
