  1. Fox is looking very good this year!
  2. Interesting lineup. Pretty much what I expected, not bad considering the options Dusty has. Not a whole lot of power in that lineup, let's hope they can just get on base and drive each other in. I kind of like that lineup, given the situation. Some nice speed and contact in there. Essentially we trade DLee's bat for Hairy's -- not a good trade but Hairy does add some things to the mix. It's not a total disaster. It's interesting to compare lineups. The Cards obviously have an amazing 3-5. But the rest of their lineup sucks. The Cubs on the other hand have only one big threat (Ramirez), but there are no easy outs.
  3. What's the cubs record? Last I checked, it was 9-5.
  4. welcome to the board! we know micah would never use roids! that's why i responded with "odwala?" Odwala is a type of energy fruit juice. we're all rooting for micah and hoping he makes the bigs! again, welcome
  5. He must be on the juice. :D Odwala?
  6. Couple of thoughts: 1. I really really like Cedeno. The kid can play. I like how he plays with so much fire. He pumped his fist after his two out, two rbi single in the 8th and then again after he dove and made the great play in the 9th. He should be our ss for years to come. 2. Marshall is looking better and better. Nice game. 3. Bullpen still looks good. Dempster is the man. Howry and Williamson did a nice job.
  7. Pierre's running well this year. Gotta love the 7 for 7.
  8. Where the heck is Hoffpauir's sudden power coming from?? 5 home runs already! His D is decent... I really like Jake Fox as a prospect. Nic Jackson seems to be getting his groove on again.
  9. I love the view of the bridge ...it's a really scenic ballpark.
  10. I'm just glad that Arroyo isn't in this lineup.
  11. Is anyone at this game? The stands look completely empty. Seems like a great way to celebrate Easter to me...the ballpark!
  12. That's probably a good comparison. I could see a Rusty Greer type career as well, without the unfortunate end because of injuries. Paul O'Neil, I think, is a superstar.
  13. I have to disagree, Vance. Anyone this good...this young...has an oustanding chance to be a superstar? What do you define as superstar? Was Mark Grace a superstar? Yes, I think Murton is going to be THAT good.
  14. Guzman pitches tonight. If he pitches well and Rusch doesn't in his next start, I'd be all about calling up Angel.
  15. This is highly unlikely. Look, my point isn't to dis Cub prospects however Felix Hernandez is more heralded prospect than Prior ever was - he's that amazing. While Felilx is indeed a great prospect, I think you are overstating his case a tad. I haven't seen reports saying he's that much better than what Prior was. A recent BP article pegged Felix as the best pitching prospect in the last 20 years. Yeah, he's more hyped than Prior. BP also hyped Brendan Harris as the next Albert Pujols. I'm just saying... No doubt Felix will be great if he remains healthy. But with prospects, the next best thing always seems to be considered the best prospect ever. Prior at the time was said by many to be the BEST pitching prospect to ever be drafted...and the best college pitcher ever. I don't see how the superlatives could get any higher for Felix.

  18. I agree. One superstar player is not a substitute for a quality team of players. Felix is good, but we would be mortgaging the teams future. Felix is one the greatest pitching prospects in the history of baseball. So was Mark Prior. Is he worth mortgaging the team's future for? Pie has a very good shot of being an allstar. Pawelek, because of his age the odds are against him, but he has an extremely high ceiling. Wuertz is a capable reliever. Guzman could be a #2 starter in the rotation for years. Add Harvey and Hill....this trade could cripple the Cubs.
  19. Barrett should have started today!!
  20. Those last two pitches were not strikes!!!
