  1. On a positive note, Murton looked good at the plate today!
  2. I'm still happy with a 5-3 record, sans Wood and Prior.
  3. Why you doggin on Ohman? He was lights out all last year. He had one bad outing last time. I could be mistaken, but I don't think he's been that great since he came back from the injury. You're mistaken.
  4. Well aren't you just a little ball of positive energy??? :P I'd like to be positive, but I'm a realist first. You know the saying brown in brown out? Well let's just say I see a lot of brown on the field right now. Is it Ohman's 2.93 ERA last year you don't like? Or is it the 32 hits allowed in 43 innings pitched?

  6. His ERA over the last 3 years is second lowest in the NL! If that's not elite, what is? How old is he? Elite? No question. I love Zambrano, but he isn't the guy that we would want in a pressure situation. I'm thinking playoffs and world series. I can envision a complete meltdown in a game 7 scenario. I hear ya...but on the other hand.....look at how big Z steps up every time he faces the Cards. He has thrown some gems while facing Carpenter. It shows he can indeed handle pressure. Atta boy Murton!!!!
  7. Yeah, great grab. Now let's score some runs!
  8. His ERA over the last 3 years is second lowest in the NL! If that's not elite, what is? How old is he? Elite? No question.
  9. Again, his last start against the Cards was VERY good. Before today, one bad start, one very good start. Yes so 2/3 of his games have sucked. Dissapointing for sure Sample size. Giving stats like "2/3 of his games have sucked" is very misleading, since this is only his 3rd start of the season. Plus, if he goes 6 or 7 today w/out giving up another run, I wouldnt say this is a terrible start either.
  10. Hit it to LF Lee...not center. You'll have much better luck. Exhibit A: Hairston's drive.
  11. Lopez is not a weak hitter. Doesn't matter what kind of hitter he is...he hit a 3 run homer. Right, but give some credit to Lopez. This discussion shouldn't be all about whether Z is sucking or not...what about some credit to a very good hitter...Lopez. Maybe he just beat Z in that at bat...nothing more, nothing less.
  12. What do you mean "continues?" Did you watch the last game he pitched against the Cardinals? 0 ER. He lost his composure in that game too because of errors behind him. I wouldn't necessarily agree. Yes, he allowed one hit after he had already gotten 4 outs. But his pitch count was already very high. Who's to say he wasn't tired by that point? Either way, it was still a VERY good outing.
  13. And Lopez is hardly a "scrub." He's arguably the best hitting shortstop in the NL.

  16. On an unrelated note, how do I take an image that I have on my computer and attach it to my profile as an avatar? I can't seem to figure it out!
  17. Opposing pitcher Jackson looks very good today. Apparently he came over to the Brewers system from Toronto in the Overbay trade.
  18. Pie lined one....just foul! Would have been an easy triple. With two strikes, took a ball and fouled off two pitches before flying out to center. 1 for 2 today so far.
  19. So yesterday was the first time the Cubs stole 4 bases in a LONG time. I say we go for 6 swipes today. Heck, with how weak this lineup is powerwise, let em run!
  20. Boy that's freakin' a lot to spend on one young pitcher. What happens if Hernandez gets hurt, as so many young pitchers do? This would be an insane trade for the Cubs. Pie, Pawelek, and Guzman all could be as good as Hernandez in their careers.
  21. Here's hoping that Hagerty has a better outing today.
  22. W/out Ramirez in the lineup, BOTH Barrett and Walker should be playing. Maybe Z will hit one out...although with Blanco and Perez in front of him, chances are it would be a solo homerun.
  23. Barrett would still be the backup catcher. Perez could then come in to play 3B.
