  1. Two links above the "Reading" option in the instructions above is "Notify" What Service! And for only $5 a month...if only my cable company were as reliable. If I felt as good about every check I write as I do for NSBB I'd be a happier person.
  2. Yep, I tested it and it works - but then I turned images back on because I just can't help myself.
  3. Yeah, I suggested on another thread that the Cubs should hire her to help ARam with his flexibility.
  4. This isn't a court of law, so proof beyond a reasonable doubt doesn't matter. A reasonable look at the evidence is more than enough to judge. I think a reasonable look at the evidence would be sufficient if there were some assurance that we are getting reasonably unbiased evidence. But with unconfirmed excerpts from grand jury investigations as evidence I'm going to wait. And I still insist whoever leaked grand jury testimony, if in fact anyone really did, is guilty of a much more serious crime than anything Bonds is allegeed to have done.
  5. The anti-Neifi crowd might want to avoid today's Game Thread.
  6. Let's hope it was go Cubs. We've got enough people running around with personal agendas.
  7. Any sort of reporting of the minor league spring training games? Stats, NSBB eye witnesses, etc.
  8. Like I said, the Ivy League is an exception. When Chris Young, who had been Ivy League rookie of the year in both baseball and basketball at Princeton, signed a pro baseball contract, he lost his eligibility to play basketball for Princeton. He did use his basketball value to get a nice quaranteed contract during his pre-arbitration years.
  9. Yeah, but the point is that upgrading the leadoff man is not likely to make a significant impact on team results.
  10. Ivy Leaugue is an exception - see Chris Young (the pitcher) - but last time I checked Marshall is not in the Ivy Leaugue.
  11. To answer my own question - http://mlb.mlb.com/images/2006/03/16/F3ReG6Hh.jpg
  12. http://www.nba.com/media/nets/laura_gallery2.jpg I think it's Laura from Dix Hills. I liked Laura also, particularly given her academic major, but Marla seemed a little closer to me. Obviously neither is a bad choice, and whoever it is should be hired by the Cubs to work with ARam on his flexibility.
  13. LIKE THIS! That was terrrrrrrrible. Goony, Is that a random girl in your sig or does she have a name? I forgot to ask. FYI After extensive research on the topic, I'm guessing Marla, from Bobby Brownlie's alma mater.
  14. So how do those green caps look?
  15. haha i know i couldn't. But honestly i'm torn about whether I'd want Clemens on the Cubs. Oh I know he could really help the team. I've never admired him though. Perhaps it's unjustified, but he's always been one of my least favorite players. I view him kind of like I view Barry. Am I foolish for seeing it that way? Let's put it this way - foolish doesn't appreciate the insult.
  16. Oh, my, my -
  17. There's a fine line between being injured and having pain or discomfort. My point is, I'm not sure that he knows the difference between the two. There are pitchers with long careers that deal with ongoing pain. I'm trying not to be cynical however, I do recall Prior saying last year that he's going to have to learn to pitch through pain. I don't see any change. Here we go again I think he needs to do more in the offseason to get himself ready to pitch. Blueheart, Short, sweet, and on point. =D> An illness requiring hospitalization could make that somewhat more difficult.
  18. Bwahahahaha! The Tribune Company must love the credibility chasm here. There has got to be some sort of Sarbanes-Oxley disclosure issue going on here that will force them to sell. Don't think you'd want to sign off on the adequacy of their internal controls?
  19. OK, here's another idea. Since you've got the NSBB sponsorship to prove you've got national coverage, how about Tripp Country Hams in Brownsville? They advertise on the 'net and ship nationwide. Surely they might be willing to get a little national (and international) exposure. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.
  20. Have you got Dos Panchos signed up yet? Yummm
  21. We should sign Roger Clemens to an affordable contract which he would accept since he only won 13 games last year.
  22. If Vance took that approach, DLEE would havebeen riding the all-star bench. Get back in there!! Fine, I just sent 5 more. I'll try to do more later. Is it just me, or is this beginning to really play into a Chicago sterotype? :)
  23. Nathan - So what are your impressions from visiting Mesa? Who impressed, who didn't? Inquiring minds are dying to know.
  24. What's the point? I was a deprived child And then became a Cubs fan :-k
  25. Finally, an approperiate use of the Rolling Eyes
